◉ At Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, officially opened the Krishnaveni Sangeetha Neerajanam.
◉ The festival offers a three-day celebration of classical music with performances by well-known artists, as well as a local food and craft fair and handloom sales.
◉ Minister Sitharaman emphasized the Telugu language’s major contributions to classical traditions as well as the rich legacy of Telugu culture during the inauguration.

◉ The Indian Navy recently finished a two-phase, extensive exercise called “Prasthan” in the Offshore Development Area off the coast of Mumbai, working with several defense, state, and civil entities.
◉ This exercise, which is carried out every six months, is essential for verifying and improving policies and protocols meant to handle different emergencies that could occur on oil production sites.
◉ Simulating security issues, such as possible terrorist attacks and bomb threats employing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), was the main goal of the exercise’s initial phase.
Responding to emergencies like fires on the oil platform and helping a crippled vessel in the offshore development region were the main objectives of the exercise’s second phase.
7. A tabletop exercise is organized by the Indian Army to empower women officers in ASEAN.
◉ The Indian Army recently held a tabletop exercise (TTX) for women officers from the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), which was a significant step towards developing gender inclusion and boosting the capabilities of women military personnel in peacekeeping operations.
◉ This exercise is a part of the continuing cooperative military training programs between ASEAN member states and India. It took place at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi from December 4 to 8. The Center for United Nations Peacekeeping (CUNPK) is leading the program.
◉ The tabletop exercise is an extension of the joint ASEAN-Indian efforts to improve the readiness and effectiveness of female officers in peacekeeping operations.
