1. PM Modi dedicated Panipat’s second-generation ethanol plant.
◉ In Haryana’s Panipat, the second generation (2G) ethanol plant has been officially opened by the prime minister.
◉ The Indian Oil Corporation Limited is said to have spent around Rs 900 crore on its construction.
◉ The 2G Ethanol Plant in Panipat will aid in increasing the nation’s production and use of biofuels and aid in lowering pollution in Delhi and Haryana.
◉ Each year, it will produce about 3 crore liters of ethanol.
International News
2. Iran’s satellite was successfully launched into orbit by Russia.
◉ From southern Kazakhstan, Russia has launched an Iranian satellite into orbit.
◉ A Soyuz rocket launched from the Baikonur launch site in Kazakhstan, which Russia has leased, placed an Iranian satellite with the name of Khayyam into orbit.
◉ Omar Khayyam, a Persian scientist who lived in the 11th and 12th centuries, inspired the name of the satellite.

3. Piramal Finance and Paytm collaborated to provide loans.
◉ The parent company of the digital payment company Paytm, One 97 Communications, has teamed up with Piramal Capital and Housing Finance to further expand its merchant lending business to India’s small towns and villages.
◉ With this, businesses can get loans up to Rs 10 lakh with a 6–24 month term.
◉ As a result of this cooperation, Paytm’s loan distribution business will grow thanks to Piramal Finance’s extensive network of over 300 branches in India. By giving small firms and shops access to finance, it will also promote financial inclusion.
4. SBI adopted a policy to support lab-grown diamond manufacturers.
◉ The State Bank of India (SBI) is the first lender in India to establish a policy to support producers of lab-grown diamonds that resemble real stones.
◉ Standard prudential procedures including treating non-fund restrictions in part with funded limits are included in the bank’s operational guidelines for funding man-made diamond residences.
◉ Diamonds made in a lab are exact duplicates of real stones.

6. The RBI revoked Rupee Co-operative Bank’s license.
