1. Neerakshi, an autonomous underwater vehicle, is unveiled in India.
◉ The nation’s first autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), which is intended to detect mines, has been launched.
◉ The ‘Neerakshi’ AUV is the result of a partnership between MSME organization AEPL and warship manufacturer Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd., based in Kolkata.
◉ After the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, and maybe the Army has finished their user testing, the AUV is likely to launch commercially six months to a year later.
◉ This can be utilized for a variety of tasks, including underwater surveys, mine identification, and mine disposal.
◉ This 2.1-meter-long, cylinder-shaped, foot-diameter unmanned vehicle weighs roughly 45 kg.
2. The Kerala Assembly votes to change the name Kerala to Keralam.
◉ The Kerala Legislative Assembly unanimously approved a resolution requesting that the name of the state be changed from “Kerala” to “Keralam” by the Central Government.
◉ CM Pinarayi Vijayan proposed the resolution and noted that the name “Keralam” is used in Malayalam.
◉ The resolution read, “Keralam is the name of our state in Malayalam. On November 1, 1956, states were created based on linguistic characteristics. Kerala Formation Day is also observed on that day.
◉ Ever since the days of the liberation movement, there has been a strong call for a unified Kerala for all Malayalam-speaking people.
3. ‘Bhartiya Vastra Evam Shilp Kosh’ was introduced by PM Modi. E-Portal The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), a repository of textiles and crafts, has unveiled its e-portal under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The launch was placed at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, Delhi, on the ninth National Handloom Day celebration.
◉ Over 3000 handloom and khadi weavers, artisans, and stakeholders from the textile and MSME sectors attended the program.
4. 33 crore people have signed up for Atal Pension Yojana.
◉ Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has so far recruited 33 crore subscribers, the government reported in Lok Shaba.
◉ It intends to provide financial security in old age to all Indian people, but especially to those employed in the unorganized sector.
◉ The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) was introduced on May 9 and began to be used on June 1.
◉ The minimum and maximum ages to join the APY are 18 and 40, respectively. According to the plan, participants would start receiving pension payments after they turn 60.
5. ‘Mo Jungle Jami Yojana’ program is introduced by Odisha
◉ Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, has introduced the “Mo Jungle Jami Yojana” for the state’s indigenous people in order to guarantee eligible recipients’ individual and collective rights to forest land.
◉ It was introduced on the International Day of Indigenous Peoples of the World.
◉ The government’s whole welfare program will be integrated with the plan to stabilize tribal peoples’ means of subsistence.
◉ The chief minister noted that in addition to helping to conserve the forest ecosystem, the government’s goal is to make sure that all qualified recipients receive the advantages of the program.
6. ‘Khel Maharan’ will be organized by the Assam government throughout the state.
◉ From November 1 to January 10, the Assam government will host “Khel Maharan” to find and develop young sporting talent.
◉ There will be more than 50 lakh athletes competing in the five sports of athletics, football, kabaddi, volleyball, and kho-kho.
◉ The ‘Khel Maharan’ project has divided events into four age categories: Under 19 (Men), Under 19 (Women), Above 19 (Men), and Above 19 (Women) in order to ensure fair competition.
Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Kokrajhar, and Diphu will host state-level events.
