1. PM Modi spoke at the “Infinity Forum 2.0” financial technology event.
◉ At the second edition of Infinity Forum 2.0, a premier financial technology event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a speech.
◉ Under the auspices of the Union Government, Gujarat International Finance Tec-City, or GIFT City, and the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) are hosting the event.
◉ The second edition of the Infinity Forum 2.0, which served as a precursor event to the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, was hosted in a hybrid format, with an invite-only in-person event held in GIFT City and virtual participation available to participants worldwide.
2. India’s first project to combat urban flooding is approved by PM Modi.
◉ An ambitious urban flood prevention project for Chennai has been approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a budget of Rs. 561.29 crore under the National Disaster Prevention Fund (NDMF).

◉ A study presented at the United Nations Climate Conference (COP-28) in Dubai stated that India has remained in the top 10 for the sixth consecutive year.
◉ India continued to be among the top performers, coming in at number seven on the Climate Change Performance Index this year, up one spot from the previous one.
◉ Similar to last year, India ranked highly in the areas of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, but medium in those of climate policy and renewable energy.

5. In 2024, Sri Lanka will host an FAO conference.
◉ In February 2024, Sri Lanka will play host to the 37th session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Asia Pacific Regional Conference (APRC).
◉ To foster regional coherence, the conference will provide ministers of agriculture and high officials from 46 member nations in the Asia Pacific area with the opportunity to discuss issues and priorities about food and agriculture.
◉ The FAO claims that by hosting the event, Sri Lanka shows its commitment to being a partner in the development of sustainable agriculture and its commitment to fostering the growth of sustainable agriculture throughout the region as well as at home.

6. The Urban Co-operative Bank of Sitapur has had its license revoked by the RBI.
◉ The Urban Co-operative Bank in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh, has had its license revoked by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
◉ The bank’s license was revoked because it lacked sufficient capital and earning potential.
◉ The bank is not allowed to conduct any banking operations, including receiving deposits from clients or paying them back.
◉ Following liquidation, each depositor would be eligible to collect from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) the full amount of their savings under deposit insurance claims, up to a maximum of ₹5 lakh.
7. India’s economy is expected to grow at a rate of 6.8% in FY24 and 7% in FY25, according to the CII Industry Chamber.
◉ This growth is expected to be fueled by the government’s ongoing emphasis on infrastructure development and the promotion of ease of doing business, with growth expected to reach 7% in 2024–25.
