1. Beginning local currency trade settlements between Tanzania and India

2. PM Modi announces construction initiatives in Varanasi
◉ In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened and formally lay the cornerstone for 29 construction projects totaling more than 12,110 crore rupees.
◉ He laid the cornerstone for 10 projects totaling 1389 crore rupees and inaugurated 19 projects worth 10,720 crore rupees.

◉ Based on the open-source Linux operating system already in use, China’s version was created by a group of roughly 4,000 developers and is utilized in the country’s space program as well as sectors including finance and energy.
◉ The system was created to compete with the widely used Windows and MacOS platforms.
Some government departments’ computers already have older versions of the program installed.

7. IBA forms a team to carry out the RBI committee’s ARC recommendations.
◉ A five-member working group has been established by the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) to carry out the recommendations of the Reserve Bank of India’s committee on the “working of the Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs)”.
◉ The group includes Dharmendra Pali (senior officials from SBI), Mythili Balasubramanian (executive director of Edelweiss ARC), Ajit Kumar (MD and CEO of Secondary Loan Market Association), Hari (CEO of Association of ARCs in India), and Anupama Ranade (senior officials from ICICI Bank).
◉ The RBI requested the formation of the Group. In collaboration with the lenders and ARCs, the central bank requests that IBA and SLMA take the necessary steps for the prompt execution of the committee’s recommendations.

◉ K Rajaraman, a senior bureaucrat, and secretary of telecom, has been chosen by the government to serve as the International Financial Services Centres Authority’s (IFSCA) new chair.
◉ Rajaraman is a 1989-class Indian Administrative Service officer.
◉ He has been hired for a three-year term. He follows Injeti Srinivas, the first IFSCA Chairperson, who served in that capacity since 2020.
◉ Rajaraman’s term will last for three years starting on the day he takes up the job, or until he is 65, or until further orders, whichever comes first.
◉ At GIFT City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, IFSCA was established in April 2020 in accordance with the International Financial Services Centres Authority Act, 2019.

10. Voyager Space and NewSpace India Limited have an agreement.

◉ NSIL is the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) commercial division.
◉ Voyager Space and NSIL will investigate launch and deployment options for little satellites orbited by SSLV and PSLV within the terms of this MoU.
◉ The utilization of space-qualified components from NSIL in support of spacecraft manufacture, deployment, operations, and other areas of interest will also be studied by the two organizations.
