1. ORTM and Prasar Bharati signed an MoU on Broadcasting Cooperation & Collaboration.
◉ In Madagascar’s capital, Antananarivo, Prasar Bharati inked an MoU on cooperation and collaboration in broadcasting with ORTM (Office de la Radio et de la Television).
◉ Abhay Kumar (India’s Ambassador to Madagascar) and ORTM DG Belalahy Jean Yves signed the document.
2. Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, has launched a one-of-a-kind ‘Kalam Website.’
◉ Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha (LS), has launched the Prabha Khaitan Foundation’s (PKF) Kalam website, a one-of-a-kind literary effort to nurture and encourage vernacular literature.
◉ The goal of Kalam is to disseminate Hindi literature by giving senior and young authors and poets a platform to discuss their work and passion for vernacular language.
3. Lata Mangeshkar will be honored with a prominent crossing in Ayodhya.
◉ In Ayodhya, a significant crossing will be developed and named after legendary vocalist Bharat Ratna’s late Lata Mangeshkar, who died on February 6 this year.
◉ Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the Ayodhya administration to identify a prominent crossing in the temple town and submit a proposal to the state government to rename it after Lata Mangeshkar within the next 15 days.

4. Vietnam has opened the world’s longest glass-bottomed bridge.
◉ In 2007, the World’s Largest Glass Bottom Bridge was inaugurated. It’s known as Vietnam’s Bach Long pedestrian bridge, and it’s 632 meters (2,073 feet) long and 150 meters (492 feet) above a massive jungle.
◉ The Asian country, according to reports, has opened a glass-bottomed bridge hovering above a beautiful jungle. It surpasses Guangdong’s 526-meter Glass Bottom Bridge.
5. Yoon Suk–Yeol was sworn in as South Korea’s new President.
◉ In a ceremony held at Seoul’s National Assembly, Yoon Suk-yeol was sworn in as President of South Korea.
◉ Under Moon Jae-(former in’s president) reign, he served as South Korea’s prosecutor general from 2019 to 2021. He was a key figure in Park Geun-(former hye’s President) conviction as South Korea’s lead prosecutor.

6. The LIC IPO, India’s largest at Rs 21,000 crore, was three times oversubscribed.
◉ On the penultimate day of the offer period, May 9, 2022, an initial public offering (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), India’s largest public offer, was subscribed 2.95 times, generating bids totaling Rs 43,933 crore.
◉ The government will be able to raise approximately Rs 21,000 crore as a result of this. Notably, 47,83,25,760 offers were made against 16,20,78,067 shares on sale. Through the Offer for Sale, the government has diminished its 3.5 percent interest in LIC (OFS).
7. ‘Xpress Car Loans,’ a new digital 30-minute car loan from HDFC Bank, is the industry’s first.
◉ For both existing and new customers, HDFC Bank has launched ‘Xpress Car Loans,’ an end-to-end digital car lending plan.
◉ In India, the bank has linked its loan application with vehicle dealers. Buyers can request up to Rs 20 lakh in credit, which would be credited to dealers’ accounts in 30 minutes.

8. In April 2022, UPI reaches a new high of 5.58 billion transactions totaling Rs 9.83 trillion.
◉ The Unified Payments Interface (UPI), India’s premier digital payments network, recorded 5.58 billion transactions worth Rs 9.83 trillion in April 2022, according to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
◉ This is the most transactions that UPI has ever logged. The monthly UPI transaction volume increased by 3.33 percent to 5.4 billion transactions worth Rs 9.6 trillion in March 2022.

9. The 4th Khelo India Youth Games include a mascot, emblem, theme song, and jersey.
◉ Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports unveiled the mascot, official logo, theme song, and official jersey of the Fourth Khelo India Youth Games on May 7, 2022 in Panchkula, Haryana. ‘Dhakad’ is the name of the mascot.
◉ Haryana will host the fourth edition of the youth games in Panchkula and other towns from June 4 to 13, 2022. Panchkula, Chandigarh, Shahabad, Ambala, and Delhi are the cities that will host the games.
10. Avinash Sable shattered the 30-year-old 5000-meter world record.
◉ At the Sound Running Track meet in San Juan Capistrano, USA, India’s Avinash Sable broke Bahadur Prasad’s 30-year-old national record in the 5000m, creating a new national record with a time of 13:25.65.
◉ The 27-year-old from Maharashtra shattered Bahadur Prasad’s 1992 mark of 13:29.70.
