1. President Murmu opened a conference on international research.
◉ The International Research Conference on Just and Resilient Agri-Food Systems, held in New Delhi, was opened by President Droupadi Murmu.
◉ This conference will be held at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Consultative Group on International Agri-Research Gender Platform.
◉ “From Research to Impact Towards Just and Resilient Agri-Food Systems” is the title of the document.
2. Dolphin is designated as the state aquatic animal of Uttar Pradesh.
◉ UPPER HARBOR The Gangetic Dolphin has been designated as the state aquatic mammal by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
◉ CM Yogi highlighted the significance of preserving the rivers’ and ponds’ purity. Rivers including the Ganga, Yamuna, Chambal, Ghaghra, Rapti, and Gerua are home to these dolphins.
◉ Around 2000 Gangetic dolphins are thought to be present in Uttar Pradesh.
◉ The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and the Forest Department have lately used GPS to count dolphins in Uttar Pradesh’s Garh Ganga in the Hapur district.
3. India was chosen once again to lead the Asia-Pacific Institute.
◉ India has been chosen to head the famous international organization for a third consecutive time as President of the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development General Conference (AIBD GC).
◉ India has already held the presidency for two terms, from 2018 to 2021 and 2021 to 2023.
◉ The fact that this milestone has been reached for the first time in the history of the AIBD, a 50-year-old organization, shows that broadcasting organizations around the Asia Pacific and the rest of the globe are confident that India can set the example and take the lead in bringing new value to broadcasting.
4. Tanzania and India have agreed to a five-year plan for defense cooperation.
◉ Following discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, India and Tanzania have agreed on a five-year strategy to dramatically increase defense cooperation.
◉ Six agreements were signed between the two nations, establishing collaboration in the fields of digital technology, culture, sports, maritime sectors, and information sharing for white shipping.
◉ Additionally, an agreement to enhance trade in local currencies was being worked on by both parties. Tanzania and India are significant trading and investment partners, according to him.
5. Beginning in Kochi is the 16th Agricultural Science Congress.

6. The IORA Council of Ministers meeting is held in Colombo Sri Lanka.
◉ On the occasion of the 23rd Council of Ministers meeting, which was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka took over as Chairman of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).
◉ Members of the association will have talks on cooperation in a range of fields, including commerce and investment, marine safety and security, fisheries management, disaster risk reduction, and the blue economy, among others.
◉ From 2023 to 2025, Sri Lanka will serve as the association’s chairperson. Bangladesh’s foreign minister will ceremonially transfer the chairmanship to M.U.M. Ali Sabry, Sri Lanka’s foreign minister.
◉ IORA is an international organization with 23 member governments and 11 dialogue partners from areas surrounding the Indian Ocean. It was founded in 1997.

7. The GST Council raises the president of the Appellate Tribunals’ maximum age.
◉ The GST Council announced at its 52nd meeting that the term of the president of the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) has been raised from 67 to 70 years of age.
◉ The Council also added that instead of 65 years earlier, members might continue in their positions until they turn 67 years old.
◉ The Council has imposed a 50-year-old minimum age requirement for both the president and members. Nirmala Sitharaman, the minister of finance, emphasized that in order to serve as a judge, a lawyer must have a minimum of 10 years of experience.

◉ All three services (Army, Navy, and Air Force) as well as paramilitary groups, NGOs, academic institutions, and international organizations take part in the yearly joint HADR exercise known as CHAKRAVAT.

10. National Archery Championship to be held in Ayodhya in November 2023
