1. Telangana’s government has inked a memorandum of understanding with the British Council to develop higher education abroad.
- Telangana’s government and the British Council, a worldwide organization that promotes educational opportunities and cultural interaction, have renewed their relationship in education, English, and the arts for another three years.
- Aim: To enable research between universities and to aid in the expansion of higher education globally in order to provide global possibilities for Telangana’s youth.
2. To promote natural farming, NABARD created the “JIVA Program.”
- In 11 states, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has developed the “JIVA program” to promote natural farming as part of its current watershed and wadi programs.

- The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the RBI held key interest rates steady on February 10, 2022. In its first policy after the Union Budget 2022, it maintained an accommodating attitude.
- For the tenth time in a row, the MPC kept the repo rate at 4% while retaining an “accommodative posture” as long as necessary. The 3.35 percent reverse repo rate will remain unchanged.
8. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has reopened the Voluntary Retention Route with a new investment limit of Rs 2,50,000 crores.
- In 2019, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced the Voluntary Retention Route (VRR) for debt investments by Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs), with an Rs. 1,50,000 crore investment limit.
- So far, approximately 1,49,995 crores have been made available in three tranches. The VRR investment ceiling has now been raised from Rs. 1,50,000 crores to Rs. 2,50,000 crores by the RBI.

- SEBI’s Advisory Committee on Investor Protection and Education Fund (IPEF), chaired by G Mahalingam, has been reformed.
- G Mahalingam, a former Whole Time Member of SEBI, will be the next Chairperson of the IPEF advisory group, which will consist of eight members.
