1. PM Modi signals the first Vande Bharat Express train to leave Rajasthan
◉ The inaugural Vande Bharat Express train for Rajasthan was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference.
◉ In the previous two months, there have been six Vande Bharat Expresses.
◉ The first train will travel between the stations of Jaipur and Delhi Cantt. Between Ajmer to Delhi Cantt, regular train service will begin with stops in Jaipur, Alwar, and Gurgaon.
◉ The New Vande Bharat Express would travel from Delhi Cantt to Ajmer in 5 hours and 15 minutes. The Shatabdi Express, the quickest train on the same route, travels from Delhi Cantt to Ajmer in 6 hours and 15 minutes.
2. GI Tag is now owned by MP’s Gond Painting.
◉ The renowned Madhya Pradesh Gond painting has been given the prestigious Geographical Indication (GI) label.
◉ A geographical Indication (GI) label is a label applied to goods with a particular geographic origin and characteristics or a reputation derived from that origin.
◉ It is used to make industrial goods, food, agricultural goods, alcoholic beverages, and handicrafts. The popular product’s name cannot be used by anybody other than the registered authorized user, thanks to GI Tag.
3. In Hyderabad, a National Food Conclave will be held.
◉ On April 28 and 29, the Telangana government will conduct the Food Conclave-2023.
◉ It is anticipated that 100 thought leaders from the agri-food sector would attend the yearly brainstorming session.
◉ The Food Conclave’s major goal is to determine what obstacles and possibilities will most affect the growth of the Indian agri-food industry in the coming ten years.
◉ Five topical segments covering diverse agri-food industry topics will make up the event. Agriculture (green), edible oils (yellow), dairy (white), meat and poultry (pink), and aquaculture (blue) will be the primary focal areas.
4. Announced State Energy Efficiency Index for 2021–2022.
◉ State Energy Efficiency Index (SEEI) 2021–22 report published by Union Minister for Power and Renewable Energy R. K. Singh.
◉ The RPM (Review, Planning, and Monitoring) meeting of states and state utility firms in New Delhi saw the release of the SEEI.
◉ Five states are in the Front Runner category in the SEEI 2021–22: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, and Telangana (>60 points), while Assam, Haryana, Maharashtra, and Punjab (50–60 points) are in the Achiever group.
◉ Additionally, the best-performing states in their respective state groupings are Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, and Karnataka. The two states that improved the most from the previous index were Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
5. Launch of the Unified Portal by the Central Bureau of Narcotics
◉ The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) single portal has been unveiled by Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra.
◉ The portal was created during the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” in an effort to strengthen the vision of Digital India.
◉ The single site is intended to suit the needs of the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors as well as to increase efficiency, transparency, and accountability among department users. It also aims to support “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” by fostering economic growth.
6. Under the Skill India Mission, the government holds the National Apprenticeship Mela in Udhampur.
◉ The Prime Minister’s National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) was held at ITI College in Udhampur as a result of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ In order to give local kids relevant employment possibilities and the chance to develop their lives through apprenticeship training, several local business organizations joined the apprenticeship mela.
◉ To promote job prospects for Indian youngsters, it was organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) as part of the Skill India Mission.
7. The ‘Tulsi Ghat Restoration Project’ is started in Uganda by EAM S Jaishankar.
◉ During his visit to Uganda’s capital of Kampala, S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, unveiled the Varanasi “Tulsi Ghat Restoration Project.”
◉ Earlier, he visited President Yoweri K. Museveni of Uganda at his farm in Rwakitura and offered his congratulations on the nation’s election to lead the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
◉ For the years 2022 to 2025, Uganda will preside over the Non-Aligned Movement on behalf of Africa.
◉ During summit sessions, the NAM chair post changes every three years.

8. IMF lowers its GDP growth prediction to 5.9%
◉ As a result of the increased economic uncertainty throughout the world, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reduced India’s GDP growth prediction to 5.9% for 2023–2024 and 6.3% for 2024–25.
◉ This is the first projection below 6% and the lowest growth estimate among the multilateral agencies.
◉ Both the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank have pegged the GDP growth for the current fiscal year at 6.3% and 6.4%, respectively.
◉ In its most recent monetary policy announcement, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) increased its prediction for GDP growth from 6.4% to 6.5%.

9. D Gukesh triumphs in the Asia and Oceania event of World Chess Armageddon.
◉ After winning the World Chess Armageddon Asia and Oceania competition, Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh defeated former World Rapid Champion Nodirbek Abdusatarov of Uzbekistan.
◉ Apart from Abdusattorov, the 16-year-old Indian won against the previous world champion in the classical division Vladimir Kramnik, Daniil Dubov, Yangyi Yu (China), Vidit Gujrathi, Karthikeyan Murali, and Param Maghsoodloo (Iran).
◉ Gukesh and Abdusatrov are both eligible to compete in the September Grand Finale of Armageddon.
