1. Telangana’s government and the British Council have renewed their relationship in research and innovation.
- The British Council, an international organisation that promotes educational opportunities and cultural interaction, and the Telangana government have renewed their relationship in education, English, and the arts to provide possibilities for Telangana’s youth.
- According to a press release from the British Council, a new pact has been agreed upon between Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) and the British Council under the extended three-year MoU between the Telangana government and the British Council, which will see both organisations work to engineer new partnerships among universities, research institutions, and centres of excellence in the UK and Telangana.
2. SMILE, a national assistance scheme, was developed to help marginalised people.
- The Central Sector Scheme “SMILE: Support for Marginalized Individuals for Livelihood and Enterprise” was introduced by Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar.
- According to the ministry, this umbrella plan is aimed to give welfare measures to the transgender community and persons who engage in the act of begging under the auspices of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
3. The government has allocated cash to the National Institute of Siddha to improve infrastructure and research facilities: Sonowal, Sarbananda
- Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal stated that the ministry has committed sufficient funds to the National Institute of Siddha to improve infrastructure, including doctor strength and research facilities.
- Mr. Sonowal stated that approximately 47 crore rupees will be awarded in 2020-21. In response to queries in the Lok Sabha, the minister stated that a clinical trial to assess the safety and efficacy of Siddha Medicine nandhi Mezhugu in patients with stage one and two breast cancer has been launched in partnership with the All India Institute of Ayurveda in New Delhi.
4. UNDP, AIM, and NITI Aayog India has established a Community Innovator Fellowship programme.
- The Community Innovator Fellowship was developed by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of the NITI Aayog in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) (CIF).
- The fellowship is being designed as a pre-incubation model that will allow youth to start their own social company based on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)-based solutions to community challenges.
5. The Maharashtra Health Minister has announced the launch of “Hope Express” to combat cancer.
- Rajesh Tope, Maharashtra’s Health Minister, has stated that the “Hope Express” cancer prevention programme will be launched in the state. He was speaking at a private hospital in Kolhapur to announce the debut of a cutting-edge Mosaic-3D radiation equipment.
- This is India’s first machine of its kind. The State Health Minister also vowed to use district planning to launch Hope Express in each of the state’s districts.
6. In the next five years, the Centre would invest Rs 5 lakh crore in Bihar’s road infrastructure: Nitin Gadkari is a Union Minister.
- Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announced that in the next five years, five lakh crore rupees will be invested on Bihar’s road infrastructure.
- Mr. Gadkari stated through video conference at a gathering in Munger, Bihar, that his ministry will finish road projects worth 25,000 crore rupees in 2022-23.

7. Paisabazaar has partnered with RBL Bank to provide credit cards.
- Paisabazaar.com, a digital marketplace for consumer credit, has partnered with RBL Bank to create a credit card called ‘Paisa on Demand’ (PoD).
- The Paisabazaar portal will be the only place where you may get the credit card. According to a press release, the RBL Bank credit card will be free for life with a computerised onboarding process.
8. HDFC ERGO and Visa have partnered to provide insurance coverage to Visa Platinum cardholders.
- HDFC Ergo General Insurance has established a cooperation with Visa to provide Visa Platinum cardholders with customised insurance coverage for chosen public sector banks.

17. A French virologist who helped discover the HIV virus has died.
