1. Saudi Arabia and India have signed a cooperation agreement in the energy sector.
◉ A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the energy sector has been signed by Saudi Arabia and India.
◉ The MoU is anticipated to strengthen ties between India and Saudi Arabia in the areas of natural gas, strategic petroleum reserves, electricity and grid interconnections, hydrogen, renewable energy, energy security, and energy efficiency.
◉ Additionally, it aims to foster bilateral investment in the energy sectors of oil & gas, hydrogen & storage, renewable energy, electricity, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage. It also aims to foster a favorable environment for the circular economy.
2. Government of Tamil Nadu introduced Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam program.
◉ The “Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam” social welfare program has been introduced by the Tamil Nadu government.
◉ Through Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam, the Tamil Nadu government would implement the scheme by giving monthly support of Rs 1,000 to more than 1.06 crore female family heads.
◉ Direct bank transfers will be used to deliver financial aid, and recipients will also be given ATM cards for convenience.
◉ The government places a strong emphasis on implementation that works, and it will notify beneficiaries via SMS.
3. ICG takes part in the 19th meeting of the heads of Asian Coast Guard agencies.

5. US and Vietnam agree on supply networks for semiconductors
◉ In order to strengthen the Hanoi semiconductor ecosystem and promote the US sector, the US and Vietnam have struck a contract on supply chains for semiconductors.
◉ This bilateral collaboration to strengthen the capability of the semiconductor ecosystem in Vietnam in support of US business will be formalized by the recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation on Semiconductor Supply Chains, Workforce, and Ecosystem Development.
◉ Comprehensive workforce development activities between the US and Vietnam were also started there, including the creation of training programs and hands-on teaching labs for semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging.
◉ The programs will be launched with 2 million dollars in early seed money from the US government, along with ongoing support from the Vietnamese government.

6. Tata Steel accepts television Reappointment of TV Narendran as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) for the next five years has been approved by Tata Steel Limited shareholders.
◉ During the meeting, 99.47% of the total shareholders voted in support of Narendran’s reappointment for the subsequent five years.
◉ As chairman of Tata Steel Europe, the Supervisory Board of Tata Steel Nederland BV, Tata Steel Long Products Limited, and Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited, Narendran will also continue in these roles.
7. Sandeep Bakshi’s appointment as MD and CEO of ICICI Bank is approved by the RBI.
◉ Sandeep Bakshi was reappointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD and CEO) of ICICI Bank by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
