1. Dayanand Saraswati’s 200th birthday celebration was launched by PM Modi.
◉ At the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kicked off a year-long celebration honoring Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati’s 200th birthday.
◉ Arya Samaj was established in 1875 by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, a social reformer who was born on February 12th, 1824, to combat pervasive societal injustices.
◉ Through its emphasis on social reforms and education, Arya Samaj has played a significant part in the cultural and social awakening of the nation.

2. The second Indian Rice Congress was opened by President Murmu.
◉ The National Rice Research Center Institute (NRRI) in Cuttack, Odisha, has hosted the second Indian Rice Congress since President Droupadi Murmu’s inauguration.
◉ Given that for many poor people, rice is their primary source of nutrition, she emphasized the significance of bio-fortified rice.
◉ A provision has been established in the budget for the government’s pilot initiative to distribute bio-fortified rice through the PDS.
◉ The government has authorized Rs 1.5 lakh crore under the Aatmanirbhar package for the improvement of the agricultural industry.

3. G20 conference of the working group on the digital economy conducted in Lucknow
◉ In Lucknow, the G20’s working group on the digital economy met.
◉ Alkesh Kumar Sharma, Secretary, Meity, spoke during a press conference in Lucknow prior to the meeting.
◉ This year, a conversation on three defining issues will be held with representatives from all 20 countries.
◉ The first is digital public infrastructure, an area where India has made significant progress thanks to programs like UPI, UIDAI, Diksha, Covin, e Sanjivani, and other applications created during the Covid era.

4. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s first phase was officially opened by PM Modi.
◉ In Rajasthan’s Dausa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the first section of the 1,400-kilometer Delhi-Mumbai highway.
◉ The expressway’s 246-kilometer section between Delhi and Jaipur will reduce the trip’s duration from five hours to roughly three and a half.
◉ Additionally, the entire region’s economic prospects are anticipated to improve.
Right before a busy election year, the first section of India’s longest motorway was made accessible to the general public. The magnificent road is expected to cut the distance between the nation’s capital and Mumbai, its financial center, in half, to just 12 hours.

5. In the ICAO Aviation Safety Oversight Ranking, India moved up to position 55.
◉ The DGCA reports that India’s ranking for aviation safety oversight increased from 112th to 55th in the nation’s score under the ICAO’s coordinated validation mission.
◉ An ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission was carried out in India in November 2022 as part of the Continuous Monitoring Approach for the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP).

6. Cyprus elects Nikos Christodoulides as its new leader.
◉ After a second and final round of voting, former foreign minister Nikos Christodoulides was chosen as the new president of Cyprus.
◉ He triumphed over his opponent Andreas Mavroyiannis.
◉ He received roughly 52% of the votes, compared to 48% for his opponent Mavroyiannis.
