1. By 2024, India will have replaced diesel in agriculture with renewable energy.
- R K Singh, the Union Power Minister, has stated that by 2024, India will have eliminated the use of diesel in agriculture and will replace fossil fuels with renewable energy.
- States should design an action plan to meet the allocated goals, as well as a dedicated agency for energy efficiency and conservation.
2. The government has approved a budget of Rs 26,275 crores for police force modernization.
- The government has decided to extend the Modernization of State Police Forces Scheme (MPF Scheme) for another five years, from 2021-22 to 2025-26.

3. India has inked a memorandum of understanding with the UN’s World Food Programme to deliver wheat to Afghanistan.
- India has inked an agreement with the United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP) to distribute 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat to Kandahar, Afghanistan, as part of a humanitarian aid effort.
- The wheat will be transported through Pakistan to the Afghan border crossing and turned over to WFP authorities in Kandahar commencing February 22nd, according to the MoU.
4. Israel was the first country to authorise drones to fly over civilian areas.
- Israel is the first country to allow civilian drone flights in its airspace.
