1. To encourage agricultural trade, Union Minister Narendra Tomar inaugurated the e-NAM Platform.
◉ The National Agriculture Market’s Platform of Platforms (POP) has been introduced by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar (e-NAM).
◉ It was introduced in Bengaluru, Karnataka, concurrently with the State Agriculture and Horticulture Ministers’ Conference.
◉ A total of 1,018 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have received equity grants totaling more than Rs 37 crore, which will assist around 3.5 lakh farmers.
2. Union Minister Piyush Goyal and Haryana Chief Minister Khattar opened the NIFT campus in Panchkula.
◉ The 17th campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Panchkula was officially opened by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister Piyush Goyal. They described it as the “fulcrum of development of the textile sector in the state.”
◉ According to NIFT rules, 20% of seats at this institute will be allotted to people from Haryana.
