6. PayU and NPCI collaborate to launch the “Credit Lines on UPI” functionality.
◉ The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and payments solution provider PayU are working together to launch the “Credit Lines on UPI” functionality on PayU’s platform. This would open up new opportunities for merchant growth and financial security.
◉ More than 380 million UPI users should have simpler access to Credit Line, according to the business.
◉ By enabling pre-approved Credit Lines over UPI, banks would empower both consumers and enterprises, supporting India’s goal of financial inclusion.
◉ PayU will divulge details regarding pertinent identifiers about the kind of credit the customer has taken out, including personal loans, pay-later plans, etc., as part of the integration process.

7. SBI Capital Markets has selected Virendra Bansal as its new MD and CEO.
◉ Virendra Bansal has been named Managing Director and CEO of SBI Capital Markets (SBICAPS), the State Bank of India’s investment banking division and wholly owned subsidiary.
◉ He takes over for Rajay Kumar Sinha, who was named the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) Whole Time Member (Finance and Investment) for a three-year term.

8. Nikhil Joshi was named Boeing Defence India’s MD.
◉ Nikhil Joshi has been named managing director of Boeing Defence India (BDI) by US aerospace firm Boeing.
◉ Joshi, who is based in New Delhi, will oversee all ongoing and upcoming BDI programs aimed at improving the modernization and mission readiness of India’s armed forces.
◉ Joshi possesses over 25 years of experience in the aerospace and defense business, which includes more than 20 years of active duty in the Indian Navy’s aviation section.

10. MoD and AWEIL executed a contract for 463 stabilized remote-control guns for the Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy.
◉ At a total cost of Rs. 1752.13 crores, the Ministry of Defence has signed a contract with Advanced Weapon Equipment India Ltd (AWEIL), Kanpur, for the manufacturing and supply of 463 12.7 mm stabilized remote-control guns (SRCG) for the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. The guns will be manufactured domestically.
◉ With the SRCG, the Navy and Coast Guard will be better equipped to identify and take down tiny targets that pose a risk to ships in an asymmetrical environment, day or night.
◉ The acquisition will contribute to the realization of the “Aatmanirbharta in Defence” goal.
◉ For more than 125 Indian vendors, this contract will create significant opportunities in the defense industrial sector.

11. Hungary receives the Chess Olympiad Torch from Anurag Thakur.
◉ Budapest, Hungary received the Olympic Chess Torch from Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports.
◉ The 45th edition of the Chess Olympiad will be held in Hungary.
◉ In New Delhi, at the Major Dhyanchand National Stadium, the torch was passed.
◉ At the 44th Chess Olympiad, which took place in Chennai in 2022, more than 2500 players from around the world competed.
12. Rachna Kumari, an Indian hammer thrower, was suspended for 12 years due to doping.
◉ Hammer thrower Rachna Kumari has been punished for 12 years by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) for violating anti-doping rules twice.
In samples taken while competing at the National Games in Patiala on September 24 and November 1, Rachna yielded positive results for several anabolic androgenic steroids last year.
