1. NITI Aayog was established. A platform for National Data and Analytics
◉ The National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog has created the National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP), which intends to increase access to and use of government data in India.
◉ The platform provides standardised datasets from India’s huge administrative data ecosystem. NDAP makes it simple for users to search, merge, view, and download datasets.
2. The National Skill Development Corporation International (NSDCI) and Hindustan Ports Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of DP World in the United Arab Emirates, have signed an MoU to establish the Skill India International Centre in Varanasi.
◉ This programme intends to prepare Indian youngsters for abroad jobs in logistics, port operations, and related fields.

3. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the new President of the United Arab Emirates.
◉ At a conference held in Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi, the rulers of the United Arab Emirates unanimously elected Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as President of the UAE.
◉ It comes following the death on May 13 of former President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Since becoming an independent nation in 1971, this US-allied nation of seven sheikhdoms has only chosen three presidents.
4. “Sky Bridge 721,” the world’s longest suspension bridge, has been opened in the Czech Republic.
◉ Tourists can now cross the world’s longest suspension footbridge, “Sky Bridge 721,” in Doln Morava, Czech Republic. The bridge spans two mountain peaks and hangs 95 metres above the Mlnsk Stream valley.
◉ The Sky Bridge 721, which is 721 metres (2365 feet) long and 1.2 metres wide, cost 200 million crowns to build (around USD 8.4 million).

5. For cash deposits and withdrawals over Rs. 20 lakh, PAN and Aadhaar are now required.
◉ For deposits or withdrawals of Rs. 20 lakh or more in a fiscal year, or for opening a current account or cash credit account with a bank, the Indian government has made quoting a Permanent Account Number (PAN) or Aadhaar number necessary.
◉ The Income-tax (Fifteenth Amendment) Rules, 2022, were released by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in this regard. The new regulations will take effect on May 26, 2022.
6. KEB Hana Bank was fined Rs. 59 lakh by the RBI.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India has fined KEB Hana Bank, a Korean bank, Rs 59 lakh for failing to follow certain deposit interest rate rules.
◉ The Korean bank was fined for failing to follow the Reserve Bank of India’s “Reserve Bank of India (Interest Rate on Deposits) Directions, 2016.”
