1. Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the PVTG Development Mission were introduced by PM Modi.
◉ On the occasion of the third Janjaatiya Gaurav Diwas from Khunti district in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Pradhan Mantri Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) Development Mission, a 24,000 crore rupee scheme.
◉ 75 PVTGs across 18 states and UTs, who reside in 22,544 villages across 220 districts with a combined population of almost 28 lakhs, will benefit from the mission.
◉ The “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” was also started by Modi to guarantee that the main government programs are fully implemented.
2. K. Singh opens New Delhi’s Power Pavilion
◉ The Ministry of Power’s Power Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair 2023 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, was opened by Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy, R. K. Singh.

3. The first woman to skydive from Mount Everest was Shital Mahajan.

4. October is the seventh consecutive month of deflation for India’s WPI.
◉ October 2023 saw a drop in wholesale inflation in India for the seventh straight month.
◉ The wholesale pricing index (WPI) decreased by 0.52 percent in October over the same month last year, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
◉ In September, wholesale inflation decreased by 0.26 percent.

◉ The Vaclav Havel Center has bestowed upon renowned writer Salman Rushdie the inaugural “Lifetime Disturbing the Peace Award.”
◉ Rushdie had not made a surprise public appearance since August 2022, when he was stabbed during a literary festival in New York.
◉ Rushdie, who was awarded the German Book Trade’s Peace Prize last month at the age of 76, considered how ironic it was to be recognized for “disturbing the peace” as he accepted his latest honor. He wondered what side of “the fence” he was on in this situation.
