1. The establishment of India’s first e-waste eco-park in Delhi’s Holambi Kalan
◉ Gopal Rai, the minister of environment for Delhi, revealed the government’s intention to create the country’s first e-waste eco-park in Holambi Kalan, a neighborhood of Delhi, on roughly 21 acres.
◉ Just 5% of the e-waste created in Delhi, which accounts for over 2 lakh tonnes of the nation’s annual production of electronic garbage, is adequately recycled.
◉ In India, Delhi ranks fifth in terms of the amount of electronic garbage it produces, behind Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
2. For the purpose of empowering consumers and raising awareness of their rights, the government unveiled the “Jagriti” mascot.
◉ Jagriti, a mascot for consumer empowerment and raising awareness of their rights, was introduced by the Department of Consumer Affairs.

6. M. Damodaran was appointed as a non-independent non-executive director of IndiGo by InterGlobe Aviation, the airline’s parent company. The appointment of the former SEBI Chairman was approved by the board.

7. The NSE has appointed Ashish Kumar Chauhan as its new MD and CEO.
◉ Ashish Kumar Chauhan has been named the new managing director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
◉ He will take over for Vikram Limaye, whose five-year term was over on July 16, 2022.

◉ Nirmal Singh Kahlon, a former speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha and a prominent member of the Shiromani Akali Dal has died. He was 79.
◉ The 79-year-old politician held the positions of Punjab Legislative Assembly Speaker from 2007 to 2012 and State Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats from 1997 to 2002.
