1. NITI Aayog has launched a National Data and Analytics Platform.
◉ NITI Aayog launched the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for public access. The platform aims to democratize access to public government data by making data accessible, interoperable, interactive, and available on a user-friendly platform.
◉ It organizes and stores fundamental datasets from many government departments, as well as provides analytics and visualization tools. This public debut follows the platform’s beta launch in August 2021, which allowed a limited number of users to test and provide comments.
2. With immediate effect, the Indian government banned wheat exports.
◉ Wheat exports have been banned in India, citing a threat to food security, partly due to the crisis in Ukraine and scorching weather that has decreased supply and pushed local prices to new highs.
◉ Despite not being one of the world’s leading wheat exporters, India’s restriction might push global prices to new highs, putting pressure on Asia’s and Africa’s poor. Authorities claimed during a press conference that the prohibition would not stay indefinitely and that it may be changed.

◉ Elisabeth Borne has been named France’s new Prime Minister, becoming the country’s second female leader. Since 2020, she has been the Minister of Labor in Macron’s previous administration.
◉ Borne is the second woman to hold the role, following Edith Cresson, who served as Prime Minister under Socialist President Francois Mitterrand from 1991 to 1992.

◉ Following a long-overdue election in the volatile Horn of Africa nation, Somali legislators have elected Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as the country’s next president.
◉ Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Somalia’s president from 2012 to 2017, won the election in Mogadishu, despite authorities imposing a security lockdown to avert deadly rebel attacks. Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed was beaten (also known as Farmajo).

◉ B Govindarajan has been named Chief Executive Officer of Royal Enfield by Eicher Motors. He will also serve on the board of Eicher Motors Limited as a full-time director. Govindarajan has been the company’s executive director since August 2021, after previously serving as the chief operating officer since 2013.
◉ Royal Enfield is a worldwide motorcycle manufacturer based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The firm has manufacturing units in Chennai, India, and is the world’s oldest motorbike brand in continuous production.
7. Former Indian Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has been named Chairman of Gram Unnati.
◉ Sunil Arora, the former chief election commissioner, has been appointed as the board’s new non-executive chairman. Arora is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with over 36 years of experience. He has served as Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
◉ On April 13, 1956, Sunil Arora, India’s 23rd Chief Election Commissioner, was born. He’s also president of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB). He is a 1980 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Rajasthan cadre. He also served as a secretary for the Indian government for two years.

◉ With the final tied at 2-2, Korea’s 46th-ranked Sim Yu-jin met China’s 15th-ranked Wang Zhiyi in the deciding singles match. In one hour and 28 minutes, Sim, who turned 23, defeated Wang 28-26, 18-21, 21-8.
