1. PM opens the 2023 International Museum Expo
◉ The International Museum Expo 2023 was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
◉ To commemorate the 47th International Museum Day, the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is hosting the International Museum Expo.
◉ ‘Museums, Sustainability, and Well-Being’ is the theme for this year.
◉ The Museum is an extensive endeavor to draw attention to and showcase historical occurrences, figures, concepts, and accomplishments from India’s past that have influenced India’s present.
2. In Delhi, Jitendra Singh opens the 8th All India Pension Adalat.
◉ The 8th All India Pension Adalat was opened in Delhi by Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.
◉ The Department has organized 7 All India Pension Adalats to date, in which 24,218 cases have been submitted and 17235 cases have been settled.
◉ Additionally, the Minister oversaw the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare’s 50th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop.
3. UGC launches two websites to improve India’s quality of education
◉ UTSAH (Undertaking Transformative Strategies and Actions in Higher Education) and POP (Professor of Practise Portal) portals are two UGC websites that have recently been developed.
◉ According to UGC, the revamped UGC website was unveiled as a part of transformative plans and initiatives for higher education.
◉ The revamped website intends to give students, teachers, and other stakeholders in the higher education ecosystem a more user-friendly experience.
4. Launch of the ‘e-Chits’ app in Andhra Pradesh
◉ To control and bring about transparency in the industry, the government of Andhra Pradesh has established an electronic service delivery system called e-Chits.
◉ The plan, which restricts transactions to Internet channels, will allow registration department authorities to confirm subscribers before approving any transactions.
◉ Additionally, the app will make sure users are aware of which registered businesses are engaged in the chit-fund industry.
5. With 48 GI tags, Uttar Pradesh was second in the nation.
◉ After acquiring GI tags for three additional ODOP crafts, Uttar Pradesh currently ranks second in the nation for having the most Geographical Indication-tagged commodities.
◉ The Mainpuri tarkashi, Mahoba Gaura stone craft, and Sambhal horn craft are some of the ODOP crafts that have been given GI designations.
◉ Tamil Nadu leads the pack with 55 GI-tagged products, followed by UP and Karnataka with 48 and 46 GI items, respectively.
◉ With 36 crafts to its name, UP ranks leading in terms of GI-tagged handicrafts.
Out of the 23 GI-tagged items in the Varanasi region alone, 18 are handicrafts.
6. Sanchar Saathi site is launched by Ashwini Vaishnaw
◉ The Sanchar Saathi Portal was introduced by Union Minister for Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
◉ By offering necessary services like tracking and preventing missing phones, this citizen-focused portal strives to empower mobile phone users.
◉ The Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR), a centralized platform that enables the blocking of stolen or lost mobile devices, is the first.
◉ Users can use CEIR to report their lost or stolen phones, making them inoperable within the Indian telecom network.
◉ The second, “Know your mobile connections,” enables users to find out who is registered as their mobile connection.
7. Cabinet gives PLI Scheme 2.0 approval for $17,000 billion.
◉ The second iteration of the production-linked incentive (PLI 2.0) scheme for IT gear, with a budget of 17,000 crores, has been authorized by the Union Cabinet.
◉ This should be evaluated in light of the results of the past PLI systems, which fell short of their promises.
◉ The government anticipates that over the course of the program, there will be an increase in production of 3.35 lakh crore and investments totaling 2,430 crore. Additionally, it hopes to produce 75,000 new jobs over the course of the following six years.
◉ The government approved the first iteration of the PLI scheme for IT gear in February 2021 with a budget of 7,350 crores, but investors showed insufficient enthusiasm.

◉ Coordination and practice missions to rescue individuals from flooded areas were part of the exercise, which involved specialist teams from the Army, NDRF, and SDRF working together.
