1. In Varanasi, PM Modi launches Kashi Tamil Sangamam 2.0.
◉ At Varanasi’s Namo Ghat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially opened the second iteration of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam. Between Varanasi and Kanyakumari, he also signaled the start of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam Express.
◉ As part of the government’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam program,” the second edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) will take place from December 17 to December 30, 2023.
◉ The main goal of this people-to-people connect initiative is to reestablish the live connections between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, two significant ancient Indian centers of study and culture.
2. ADB and India agree on a $250 million loan for the development of India’s industrial corridor.
◉ A $250 million policy-based loan between the Indian government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will support the development of industrial corridors to boost manufacturing competitiveness, fortify domestic supply chains and linkages with regional and global value chains, and generate employment opportunities.
◉ This loan expands on the $250 million Subprogramme 1 loan that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) authorized in October 2021 and which aided in the development of 11 industrial corridors and the strengthening of policy frameworks for the Government of India’s National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP).
3. Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) 2023 was released by Piyush Goyal.
◉ In New Delhi, Piyush Goyal, the Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles, unveiled the “Logistics Ease Across Different State (LEADS) 2023” study.
◉ The LEADS 2023 study, which is the fifth iteration of the LEADS annual exercise, offers suggestions for enhancing logistics performance at the state and local government levels.

8. Senior National Snooker champion Sourav Kothari won his first title.

9. Rajasthan loses to Haryana to win the Vijay Hazare Trophy. 2023
