1. Namma Metro Rail of Bengaluru has introduced QR ticketing on WhatsApp.
◉ The introduction of Namma Metro’s WhatsApp chatbot-based QR ticketing service has been announced in conjunction with cooperation between WhatsApp and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL).
◉ ‘Namma Metro’ riders will be able to buy tickets and recharge their travel passes directly within WhatsApp thanks to the chatbot’s integration with UPI-powered payments on that platform.
2. Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas was proposed by UGC to be observed on December 11.
◉ All institutions of higher learning are required by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to mark “Bharatiya Bhasha Diwas” on December 11 each year.
◉ The UGC stated in a notice that the day will be marked to promote “language harmony” and foster an environment that is favorable to studying Indian languages.
In order to promote Indian languages, the central government will also open 22 Bhasha Kendras.
3. 42 telecom product proposals were accepted by the government under the PLI scheme.
◉ 42 businesses, including Nokia and Samsung, have received authorization from the Union Government to participate in the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for telecom and networking products.
◉ Investments of Rs. 4,115 crores have been committed by these 42 companies. Over the course of the scheme, this is anticipated to increase sales by Rs 2.45 lakh crore and produce 44,000 extra jobs.
4. Greater Noida hosted the opening of the first data center in north India by Yogi Adityanath.
◉ Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, has opened Yotta D1, Greater Noida’s first hyper-scale data center.
◉ It is located in the future Data Center Park in Greater Noida and was constructed by the Hiranandani Group at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore.
