1. PM Modi places the foundation stone for the UP temple of Kalki Dham.
◉ The Shri Kalki Dham temple in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, had its foundation stone set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The chairman of the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, is in charge of overseeing the construction of Shri Kalki Dham.
◉ Additionally, the premier launched more than 14,000 state-wide projects worth more than ₹10 lakh crore.
◉ These initiatives are the result of funding requests made at the preceding year’s UP Global Investors Summit 2023 (UPGIS 2023) in Pune.
2. The government increases the FCI’s permitted capital from Rs 10,000 cr to Rs 21,000 cr.
◉ To improve operational capacities and successfully carry out its mandate, the Indian government has increased the authorized capital of the state-run Food Corporation of India (FCI) from ₹10,000 crore to ₹21,000 crore.
◉ To safeguard the interests of farmers, food grains are procured at a minimum support price (MSP) by FCI, the nodal agency of the central government. Additionally, it distributes the grains under various social programs and keeps strategic stockpiles.

12. All-rounder Mike Procter of South Africa passes away
◉ At the age of 77, Mike Procter, a legendary cricket player from South Africa, passed away.
◉ In 401 first-class matches, Procter amassed an incredible 21,936 runs, 48 centuries, and 1417 wickets at 19.53, with 70 five-wicket hauls.
◉ Following his playing career, Procter entered the contentious field of match refereeing. When Pakistan was penalized by the umpires for tampering with the ball, they forfeited the Test, and he was the referee at the Oval in 2006.
