1. Launch of India’s First Logistics, Waterways, and Communication School
◉ In Agartala, Tripura, the nation’s first school for logistics, waterways, and communication have opened.
◉ The school was officially opened by Dr. Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, and Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, and Ayush.
◉ The region has a wealth of talent, therefore our goal is to help them develop into top-tier professionals in the logistics and transportation fields.
◉ It was established under the State Institute of Rural Development and Public Administration.
2. PM Modi introduced a number of development initiatives in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
◉ The foundation for various projects has been laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the northern districts of Yadgiri, Kalaburagi (Karnataka), and Maharashtra.
◉ At Kodeka in the Yadgiri district, Modi laid the cornerstone and officially opened a number of development projects pertaining to irrigation, drinking water, and a National Highway development project.
◉ The Yadgiri district project, which has an estimated cost of about 2,050 crores, will deliver potable water to nearly 2.3 lakh households across more than 700 rural habitations and three municipalities.
◉ The Narayanpur Left Bank Canal Extension Renovation and Modernization Project were also opened by Modi (NLBC-ERM). The project can irrigate 4.5 lakh hectares of command area with a canal carrying a capacity of 10,000 cusecs.
3. India announced plans to fund development projects with 100 million Maldivian Rufiyaa.
◉ A further donation of 100 million Maldivian Rufiyaa has been announced by EAM S Jaishankar for community development initiatives in the Maldives during his visit.
◉ He also saw an MoU between the Kochi University of Science & Technology and the Maldivian National University.
◉ The deal included grant funding for the High Impact Community Development Project in the amount of 100 million rufiyaas (the Maldives’ currency) (HICDP).
◉ He also disclosed that India had given the Maldives National Defense Force two maritime ambulances (MNDF).
4. Ashok Leyland and Adani Enterprises have an agreement to create the first hydrogen mining vehicle in Asia.
◉ A contract was signed by Adani Enterprises, Ashok Leyland, and Ballard Power (Canada) to start a pilot project to create a fuel cell electric truck (FCET) that runs on hydrogen for the logistics and transportation of mining operations.
◉ With this partnership, Asia will get its first mining vehicle driven by hydrogen.
◉ The company Adani Enterprises Limited, which focuses on both mining operations and developing green hydrogen projects for sourcing, shipping, and building out hydrogen refueling infrastructure, will be in charge of the demonstration project.
◉ The 55-ton mining truck will have a 200-km operating range.
◉ In India, the FCET is expected to debut in 2023.
5. South Korea and India held a dialogue on foreign policy and security in Seoul.
◉ Seoul hosted the 5th India-South Korea Foreign Policy and Security Dialogue.
◉ In areas including trade and investment, security and military, science and technology, as well as cultural and people-to-people interactions, both sides agreed to intensify collaboration.
◉ They decided to take specific actions to increase bilateral trade from its current all-time high of $28 billion to $50 billion by 2030.
6. First Global Tourism Investors Summit to be held by the Tourism Ministry
◉ The first Global Tourism Investors Summit will be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from April 10–12, 2023, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism.
◉ The summit’s goal is to bring together leaders in business and government to discuss and research the potential of the Indian tourism industry.
◉ Through the identification of State-Specific Investment Possibilities and discussion of Ways to Promote Sustainable Tourism, the event’s main objective was to promote India as an investment destination for travel, tourism, and hospitality.

7. Best Small Bank Award 2022 was won by Tamilnad Mercantile Bank.
◉ In the “Best Banks Survey for the year 2022,” which was held by Business Today-KPMG, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) was given the Best Small Bank Award (BT-KPMG Best banks survey).
◉ Under the category of banks with a book size of less than Rs 1 lakh crore, the bank has won the Best Small Bank Award.

9. The CEO of Vedanta’s Cairn Oil & Gas is Nick Walker.
◉ With effect from 5 January 2023, Nick Walker has been named the next Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vedanta’s Cairn Oil & Gas.
◉ Walker served as president and CEO of Lundin Energy, a sizable independent E&P company in Europe, prior to his appointment.
◉ He has 30 years of experience working internationally in technical, commercial, and executive leadership capacities, having previously worked with BP, Talisman Energy, and Africa Oil.

10. ‘Sainya Ranakshetram 2.0’ Seminar/Workshop was organized by the Army.
◉ The Indian Army organized “SAINYA RANAKSHETRAM 2.0” in its second iteration from October 2022 to January 2023 under the supervision of HQ Army Training Command.
◉ The goal of this project is to find answers to operational cyber difficulties and to accelerate and shorten the time needed to develop novel solutions in the area of cyber security.

11. Laxman Rawat secured the NSCI Snooker Open Championship.
◉ In the 2023 “Baulkline” NSCI All India Snooker Open final, Laxman Rawat of the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) defeated Aditya Mehta, another PSPB competitor, by a score of 9-6.
◉ In the last iteration of the competition, Rawat came in second place after falling to Sourav Kothari in the championship match.
◉ Rawat’s victory marked his first major triumph in two to three years.
