1. Draupadi Murmu served as India’s 15th president.
◉ Draupadi Murmu, an Odisha native and member of a tribal family, was chosen to serve as India’s 15th president.
◉ The 16th presidential election in India’s history was held on July 18, 2022, during the 2022 Indian Presidential Election. Murmu becomes the first female tribal leader in India.
◉ She succeeds Pratibha Patil as the second woman to hold the position. On July 24, Ram Nath Kovind’s term as president would come to an end.
2. India and Namibia have an MoU for the conservation of wildlife.
◉ An MoU on animal conservation and sustainable biodiversity utilization has been signed by India and the Republic of Namibia in order to restore cheetahs to their former range in India.
◉ Nangolo Mbumba, vice president of Namibia, and Bhupender Yadav, union minister of environment, forests, and climate change, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
◉ The main focus areas of the MoU are biodiversity conservation, with a particular emphasis on the preservation and reintroduction of cheetahs in the regions where they once roamed before going extinct, as well as sharing and exchanging expertise and capacities to advance cheetah conservation between the two countries.

6. England is under its first-ever red weather warning due to a severe heat wave.

◉ Temperatures could exceed 40 degrees Celsius, and a red warning, the Met Office’s highest level of notice, means there may be a risk to human life. The unprecedented alert, which is designated a national emergency, warns that everyone’s life is at risk.

7. Three cooperative banks were prohibited from undertaking banking business by RBI.
◉ Three cooperative banks now face significant limitations, according to the Reserve Bank of India.
◉ Along with the Sri Mallikarjuna Pattana Sahakari Bank situated in Karnataka, these banks also include two from Maharashtra: the Nashik Zilla Girna Sahakari Bank Limited and the Raigad Sahakari Bank.
