1. The government has agreed to extend the RUSA programme until March 31, 2026.
- The Ministry of Education has approved an expenditure of Rs 12,929.16 crores to extend the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) initiative until March 31, 2026. Around 1,600 projects would be supported in the new phase of the scheme.
- The centre will provide Rs 8,120.97 crores to the total expenditure of Rs 12,929.16 crores, while the state would contribute Rs 4,808.19 crores.
2. TransUnion CIBIL and FICCI collaborated to establish the MSME Consumer Education Program.
- TransUnion CIBIL Limited teamed up with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) to launch a nationwide Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) consumer education programme to help MSME’s across India learn about credit management, CIBIL Rank, and commercial credit information.
- The program’s goal is to provide MSME’s with information on how to create a strong credit history and CIBIL Rank in order to gain easier and faster access to financing.

3. 21st The World Sustainable Development Summit 2022 was hosted by TERI. virtually
- The World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2022, the Energy and Resources Institute’s (TERI) annual flagship event, will be conducted virtually from February 16th to 18th, 2022.
- The summit’s initial address was delivered virtually by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The gathering, which drew delegates from 131 countries, featured environment ministers from over a dozen countries.
4. After nearly ten years, France announced its military departure from Mali.
- After nearly ten years of waging a terrorist insurgency in Mali, French President Emmanuel Macron has declared that France and its European partners will begin the military withdrawal.
- Under the socialist president François Hollande, France sent troops to Mali to fight militants for the first time in 2013. The decision was made as a result of a deterioration in France’s relations with the country’s ruling junta regime. The military operation’s focus will be switched from Mali to Niger.

- The subscription to the shares of India Debt Resolution Company Ltd was announced by State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda (BoB), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Union Bank of India (UBI), Canara Bank, and Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) (IDRCL).
- Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and Public Financial Institutions (FIs) would own a maximum of 49 percent of IDRCL, with private sector lenders owning the rest.
