1. In Maharashtra, India’s first biosafety Level-3 containment mobile laboratory was launched.
- Union In Nashik, Maharashtra, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharati Pravin Pawar launched India’s first Biosafety level-3 containment mobile laboratory.
- The ICMR’s professionally qualified experts will use the mobile laboratory to research newly developing and re-emerging viral diseases. The newly opened facility will be able to analyse outbreaks using samples from humans and animals in distant and forested sections of the country.
2. In Madhya Pradesh, the Khajuraho Dance Festival began.
- The Khajuraho Dance Festival is a one-week classical dance festival conducted yearly alongside the Khajuraho temples in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district. It is organised by the Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad.
- This festival will take place from February 20th to February 26th, 2022. This festival celebrates the diversity of Indian classical dance styles such as Bharathanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathakali, and Manipuri, with performances by some of the best practitioners in the field. Modern Indian dance has recently been added to the mix.
3. Assam was the first state to offer a mobile app for river navigation at night.
- In Guwahati, Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled India’s first Night Navigation mobile app for ferry services on the Brahmaputra River.
- It was created by the State Transport Department in collaboration with K Raju, IIT Madras’ main scientist.
4. PM Modi launched the ‘Kisan Drone Yatra,’ launching 100 ‘Kisan Drones,’ which will spray pesticides on farmland.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Kisan Drone Yatra,’ a Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd project, by launching 100 ‘Kisan Drones’ in cities and towns across India to spray pesticides on crops across the country.
- This is a unique programme aimed at assisting farmers all over India. The Kisan Drones were launched in 100 villages throughout 16 Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Goa.
5. Kerala Startup Mission teamed up with Google for Startups to build international connections.
- Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) collaborated with Google to launch Google for Startups Accelerator, India during the ‘Huddle Global 2022’ to connect local startups with global startups and to leverage Google’s programme, which includes mentorship and coaching of startup groups to help scale-up their options.
- Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan launched the third edition of the two-day ‘Huddle Global 2022’ organised by KSUM. Paul Ravindranath will be the head of Google’s India Startup Accelerator.

8. SEBI has reestablished the Alternative Investment Policy Advisory Committee, which is chaired by NR Narayana Murthy.
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has reformed the Alternative Investment Policy Advisory Committee (AIPAC), which now has 20 members and will be chaired by Nagavara Ramarao Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys.
- The group advises SEBI on a variety of topics affecting the growth of the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) business and the Indian startup environment. It also informs SEBI on matters that need to be discussed with other authorities in order for the AIF to progress.

9. Sanjay Malhotra has been appointed to the RBI’s Central Board of Directors by the Centre.
- Sanjay Malhotra, a 1990 batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre and the Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance, has been appointed as the Director of the Reserve Bank of India’s Central Board, with effect from February 16, 2022, and until further orders.
- He has also been appointed to the State Bank of India’s (SBI) central board of directors, with immediate effect and until further orders.
10. Tanishka Kotia and her sister Riddhika Kotia have been named Brand Ambassadors of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme for the Gurugram District of Haryana. Tanishka Kotia is an international chess player and a FIDE Master.
- Tanishka Kotia, the world’s youngest chess player, was inducted into the Limca Book of Records in 2008. They are from the state of Haryana. Tanishka Kotia is ranked 2nd in the country in the under-16 category, according to the 2019 World Chess Federation rankings.
