1. PM Modi presented a bust of Mahatma Gandhi in Hiroshima.
◉ In Japan’s Hiroshima City, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a bust of Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi’s bust has been placed there as a symbol of support for non-violence and peace.
◉ On August 6, 1945, the US carried out the first nuclear assault on Hiroshima, obliterating the city and killing almost 140,000 people.
◉ The Mahatma Gandhi bust represents a major and profound symbol of friendship and goodwill between India and Japan and is a gift from the government of India to the city of Hiroshima.
◉ The 42-inch-tall triumphal statue was made by famous Padma Bhushan recipient Shri Ram Vanji Sutar and is made of enduring bronze.
2. The government will establish 1,100 farmer-producer organizations in the cooperative sector.
◉ According to a central plan, 1,100 new farmer-producer organizations would be founded in the cooperative sector, according to the Ministry of Cooperation.
◉ The National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) has been given a target of creating 1,100 new FPOs under the plan.
◉ Each FPO is given financial support of Rs 33 lakh under the plan. Additionally, the Cluster-Based ◉ Business Organisations (CBBO) receive financial support in the amount of Rs 25 lakhs for each FPO.
3. In 2024, India will host the Quad Summit.

◉ The Quad Summit this year was originally supposed to take place in Australia, but instead, it was held in Japan since US President Joe Biden had to cancel his trip to Australia because of the ongoing debt limit negotiations in Washington.
4. Amit Shah dedicates to the National Academy of Coastal Policing Union campus.
◉ The National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP) permanent campus is being built near Okha in Gujarat’s Devbhumi Dwarka district, and the foundation stone was placed by Home Minister Amit Shah.
◉ The nation’s first national academy, the National Academy of Coastal Policing, was founded in 2018 to offer comprehensive training to the maritime police of nine coastal states, five union territories, and the Central Police Forces.
◉ To improve the security of the coastal borders, the Centre has approved spending Rs 441 crore to establish NACP with cutting-edge training facilities, contemporary infrastructure, and cutting-edge technology.
5. First Inter-Ministerial Committee Meeting on India 2023 for the World Food

6. Nepal will recognise 2025 as a “special tourism year”
◉ The 2080s of Bikram Samvat will be known as “the Visit Nepal decade,” and 2025 will be designated as a special year for travel.
◉ While presenting the policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2080–2081 at the joint meeting of the federal parliament, Nepal’s President Ram Chandra Paudel made this announcement.
