1. The 21st World Congress of Accountants will be held in India in 2022.
◉ For the first time in 118 years, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will host the 21st World Congress of Accountants (WCOA).
◉ Physically, almost 6000 top accountants from 130 countries will take part in the program. After outbidding France, the event will take place from November 18 to 21.
2. Every year on December 18, Tamil Nadu will commemorate Minorities Rights Day.
◉ The Tamil Nadu government has declared December 18 as Minorities Rights Day, which would be marked every year.

3. Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob has been elected.
◉ In the Slovenian Prime Minister election, Robert Golob defeated three-time Prime Minister Janez Jana.
◉ According to state election officials, the Freedom Movement received over 34% of the vote, compared to around 24% for the ruling conservative Slovenian Democratic Party. The New Slovenia party received 7% of the vote, followed by the Social Democrats, who received more than 6%, and the Left Party, which received only 4%.

◉ Kishore Kumar Das, the founder of the educational organization Bidyanando,’ has been awarded the Commonwealth Points of Light Award for his outstanding efforts in expanding access to education for children from marginalized families.
◉ Bidyanando was founded by Kishore Das in 2013 with only 22 pupils. It now operates five primary schools that provide free education as well as academic tutoring and scholarship programs to assist pupils in continuing their education.

◉ Binapani Mohanty, an eminent Odisha writer and a Padma Shri awardee (2020), has died. She was born in Berhampur and began her teaching career in 1960 as an Economics lecturer.
◉ Her short stories have been translated into a number of languages (including Hindi, English, Kannada, and Marathi). ‘Pata Dei,’ her collection of short stories, earned the Sahitya Akademi prize. Sarala Samman was also given to her by the Odisha government.
11. K. Sankaranarayanan, a long-serving Congressman, died recently.
