1. AAHAR 2022, Asia’s largest international food and hospitality fair, kicked off in New Delhi.
◉ Asia’s largest international food and hospitality exhibition, AAHAR 2022, will be held in New Delhi by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in collaboration with the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).
◉ APEDA has also set up booths for exporters from the North East, Himalayan states, women entrepreneurs, start-ups, and millet exporters. The event will include around 80 exporters from a variety of industries.
2. Palli village was the first carbon-neutral panchayat in India.
◉ Palli village in Jammu’s Samba district has become the country’s first carbon-neutral panchayat, thanks to solar energy.
◉ With the cooperation of the locals, this project (500 KW solar plant) was built in a record time of three weeks. At a cost of Rs 2.75 crore, the solar project was finished.
3. The first digital bus service in India was launched in Mumbai, with the ‘Tap In, Tap Out’ function.
◉ Aditya Thackeray, Maharashtra’s State Tourism, Environment, and Protocol Minister, has unveiled India’s first totally digital bus, which runs from the Gateway of India to Churchgate and features a unique ‘Tap-in Tap-out’ function.
◉ Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) is the country’s first fully digital bus service. The ‘Tap-in Tap-out’ feature will only be offered in two buses at first.

4. The World Economic Forum’s Class of Young Global Leaders 2022 includes Raghav Chadha and Radhika Gupta.
◉ Raghav Chadha, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, Mykhailo Fedorov, the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, and Radhika Gupta, the CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, have all been named to the World Economic Forum’s list of Young Global Leaders under 40 for 2022.
◉ The list was announced just days before the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, which will take place from May 22nd to 26th, 2022.
5. At the Paris Book Festival 2022, India was the Guest of Honour.

◉ According to Twitter, the publicly-traded company will now become a private company owned by Musk, who paid $54.20 a share for the stock. Musk had already purchased a 9.2 percent interest in Twitter.
7. M S Sahoo, the chairman of SEBI’s Market Data Advisory Committee, has been reconstituted.
◉ The advisory committee on market data, which proposes regulatory actions in areas like securities market data access and privacy, has been reformed by SEBI.
◉ M S Sahoo (Professor at National Law University in Delhi and former chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI)) is the committee’s chairman.

8. Laureus Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year:
◉ Max Verstappen and Elaine Thompson-Herah 2022 F1 champion Max Verstappen has been crowned Laureus Sportsman of the Year, while Jamaican Olympic sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah has been chosen Sportswoman of the Year.
◉ The awards honor the best sporting achievements of 2021, with one of the highlights being the Italian Men’s Football Team’s European Championship victory, which earned them their second Laureus Team of the Year Award.
9. The World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) Prizes, 2022, was awarded to Meghalaya’s re-proposal system.
◉ The state planning department of Meghalaya has won a prestigious UN Award – World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS) Prizes, 2022 in the category of “the role of governments and all stakeholders in the promotion of Information and Communication Technologies for development.”
