1. A Mutual Recognition Agreement for Authorised Economic Operators was struck between India and the UAE.
◉ India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to a Mutual Recognition Arrangement for Authorised Economic Operators.
◉ The agreement was formally signed today in Brussels, outside of the 141st and 142nd sessions of the Customs Co-operation Council meeting of the World Customs Organisation (WCO).
◉ Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) from both nations may be recognized thanks to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement’s framework.
◉ The historic India-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which was agreed between the two countries on February 18, 2022, and formally entered into force on May 1, 2022, is being continued by the Mutual Recognition Agreement.
2. To ensure better healthcare, the Rajasthan government has released the PCTS smartphone app.
◉ The Pregnancy, Child Tracking & Health Services Management System (PCTS) software was introduced by the Rajasthani government to track online the well-being of expectant mothers, obstetricians, and newborns.
◉ Every ASHA Sahyogini in the state is now able to reach out to women and children in their local communities and submit daily reports through the PCTS app.
◉ The PCTS app allows ASHA Sahyoginis to get details about various health-related services.
◉ This improves women’s and children’s health through strengthening healthcare services for these populations.
3. Mumbai hosts the 8th Global Pharmaceutical Quality Summit in 2023.
◉ Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Health, and Family Welfare, gave a speech at the 8th Global Pharmaceutical Quality Summit in Mumbai in 2023.
◉ ‘Patient Centricity: New Paradigm of Manufacturing and Quality’ was the summit’s overarching subject.
◉ Industry leaders, international regulators, quality experts, and stakeholders came together for the two-day Summit to promote information sharing and discuss issues crucial to determining the future of India’s pharmaceutical industry.
◉ During COVID-19, India served as the world’s pharmacy by supplying the rest of the globe with consistent supplies of high-quality drugs and vaccinations.
4. IIT-Madras suggests a sports quota in an effort to increase diversity.

5. The 2023 Global Liveability Index
◉ Austria’s Vienna has been named the world’s most liveable city, according to the Economic Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Liveability Index 2023.
◉ Second on the list was Copenhagen, Denmark, followed by Melbourne and Sydney.
◉ The least livable cities are still Tripoli in Libya and Damascus in Syria.
◉ The list includes the names of 173 cities from around the globe that have been ranked according to a number of important criteria, such as infrastructure, environment, health care, education, stability, and stability.
