1. Cabinet approves the establishment of new nursing schools
◉ The Union Cabinet has given the go-ahead for the co-location of 157 nursing colleges with already-existing medical institutions, at a cost of 1,570 crore.
◉ The goal is to increase the number of nursing practitioners and deliver high-quality, equitable, and affordable nursing education nationwide.
◉ The co-location of these nursing colleges with medical colleges will enable the best possible use of the staff, clinical facilities, skill labs, and infrastructure already in place.
◉ The project will be finished by the government in two years, with specific deadlines set for each stage of planning and execution.
2. Rashki introduces the first-ever line of banana-based handbags in India.
◉ In an effort to promote eco-friendly and sustainable design, the Indian clothing company Rashki has introduced the nation’s first-ever line of handbags fashioned from banana leather.

10. Mamukkoya, a Malayalam actor, passes away
◉ Popular Mamukkoya, a Malayalam actor, died at the age of 76.
◉ In the theatre, Mamukkoya made his acting début in 1979. He had previously worked at a Kozhikode timber mill.
◉ Over 450 Malayalam films featured Mamkukkoya during the course of his four-decade acting career. Additionally, he made an appearance in the French movie Flammens of Paradise.
