1. PM Modi attended the Ahmedabad Khadi Utsav.
◉ At the Ahmedabad Sabarmati riverfront’s Khadi Utsav, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a speech.
◉ The special Khadi Utsav is being held as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to draw attention to the role that khadi played in the nation’s struggle for independence.
◉ He also opened the Atal Bridge, a footbridge that spans the Sabarmati River and links the city’s east and west sides.
2. A Meeting of the Joint River Commission of India and Bangladesh conducted in New Delhi
◉ In New Delhi, the Joint Rivers Commission (JRC) of Bangladesh and India convened its 38th ministerial-level meeting.
◉ The text of the MoU on “Interim Water Sharing of Kushiyara River” was finalized by the two parties.
◉ Of the 54 rivers shared by India and Bangladesh, 7 rivers have already been chosen as the priority for establishing the framework of water sharing agreements.

4. For 85 crore, TVS Motor purchases a 48% interest in DriveX.
◉ Leading two-wheeler producer TVS Motor Company has revealed plans to pay Rs 85.4 crores for a 48 percent share in Narain Karthikeyan’s two-wheeler startup DriveX.
◉ A digital platform called “DriveX” run by Karthikeyan’s company, Nkars Mobility Millennial Solutions Private Limited (NMMSPL) offers two-wheelers to customers on a subscription basis for a flexible tenure.
5. IOC to spend Rs 2 lakh crore for net-zero aim by 2046
◉ By 2046, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) plans to achieve net-zero operating carbon emissions with a Rs 2 lakh crore investment.
◉ The goal is consistent with India’s goal of having net-zero emissions by 2070.
By then, the over Rs 2 lakh crore investment will help reduce emissions to just about 0.7 billion metric tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
◉ The corporation intends to replace liquid fuels with natural gas in refineries and to switch from grey hydrogen to green hydrogen, which is produced using renewable energy.

6. A deal worth USD 2.25 billion was inked by South Korea and a Russian nuclear business.
◉ A USD 2.25 billion agreement has been reached between South Korea and the state-run ASE nuclear energy corporation in Russia.
◉ Components will be provided for Egypt’s first nuclear power plant under the inked agreement.
Rosatom, a state-owned Russian nuclear enterprise, owns ASE as a subsidiary.
◉ A 20 billion dollar contract to build nuclear power reactors in the UAE has also been signed with South Korea.
7. The youngest person to fly solo around the globe is Mac Rutherford.
◉ British pilot Mac Rutherford, 17, set a record for being the youngest person to fly a light plane alone around the globe.
◉ On March 23, this year, Rutherford took off from Sofia and returned here after traveling through 52 nations on 5 continents and putting in over 250 hours of flight time. Due to the support of the Bulgarian business ICDSoft, Bulgaria served as both the starting and finishing point of his voyage.
◉ He accomplished this feat in under 150 days.

8. According to RBI figures, bank lending growth rose to 14.2% in the June quarter.
◉ The “Quarterly Statistics on Deposits and Credit of SCBs for June 2022” were provided by the RBI.

9. Restrictions were placed on Thodupuzha Urban Co-operative Bank by the RBI.
◉ The Kerala-based Thodupuzha Urban Co-operative Bank has been subject to a number of limitations by the Reserve Bank of India for a term of six months.
◉ The RBI has forbidden the bank from making any investments, extending loans, or making fresh advances.
◉ The RBI has also prohibited depositors from withdrawing money from the bank’s savings and current accounts.

10. IDFC names Mahendra Shah as its new MD.
◉ Mahendra N Shah has been chosen to serve as IDFC Limited’s next Managing Director (MD).
◉ On October 1, 2022, he will take up the position.
◉ Sunil Kakar, the current MD, will be replaced by Shah after his term expires on September 30, 2022.
◉ Shah served as IDFC’s Company Secretary & Compliance Officer since May 2019 prior to this appointment.
