1. The World’s Largest Grain Storage Scheme is introduced by PM Modi
◉ Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 11 godowns in primary agricultural credit societies (PACS) across as many states, marking the beginning of the world’s largest grain storage plan in the cooperative sector, involving an investment of over Rs 1.25 lakh crore.
◉ As part of the scheme, thousands of godowns and warehouses would be built in the cooperative sector over the next five years, adding 700 lakh tons of storage capacity.
◉ Plus, he set the groundwork for 500 additional PACS to have godowns and other agricultural infrastructure built.
◉ Thousands of godowns and warehouses will be built nationwide as a result of this.
◉ The “Sahakar Se Samridhi Programme” is the umbrella organization for this initiative.
2. The first railway station in Sikkim was dedicated by PM Modi.
◉ At Rangpo, the first railway station in Sikkim had its foundation stone set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The rich culture, history, and architecture of Sikkim will inspire the Rangpo train station’s design.
◉ The 45-kilometer train line that is now under construction would connect Rangpo in Sikkim with Sevoke, which is close to Siliguri in West Bengal. There will be 22 bridges and 14 tunnels.
◉ Trains can travel at a maximum speed of 110 mph on the Northeast Frontier Railway’s Sevoke-Rangpo segment, with a track capacity of 25 tons.
◉ Between Sevoke and Rangpo, there will be three stations: Teesta, Melli, and Riyang, all in West Bengal.
3. “Investor Information and Analytics Platform” is introduced by Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
◉ Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Entrepreneurship, and Skill Development, and Jal Shakti, has introduced the “Investor Information and Analytics Platform,” which was created by IIT Madras.

6. Algeria Opens the Third-Largest Mosque in the World
◉ The largest mosque in Africa and the third largest in the world was opened by Algeria.
◉ The Grand Mosque of Algiers, located on the country’s Mediterranean coast, was officially opened by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
◉ Locally referred to as the Djamaa El-Djazair, it has the highest minaret in the world, standing at 265 meters (869 feet), can hold 120,000 people, and is the largest mosque in the world, second only to the holiest places in Islam, Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.
◉ It was constructed over seven years as a modernist building that covers 27.75 hectares (almost 70 acres) and is embellished with marble and wood accents as well as North African and Arab motifs.

7. RBI grants Amazon Pay final permission to function as a payment aggregator.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted a payment aggregator license to Amazon Pay, the fintech division of the world’s largest online retailer, Amazon India.
◉ The fintech company now has permission to function as a payment aggregator (PA), joining a list of businesses that the central bank has lately authorized.
◉ This month, the RBI granted final authorization for payment aggregator (PA) licenses to two fintech firms, Decentro and Juspay, as well as the enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, Zoho.
◉ Fintech companies Tata Pay and Stripe, as well as food delivery giant Zomato, were among the businesses that were granted the license in January.
◉ They joined the likes of last year’s approved companies, Razorpay, Cashfree Payments, and EnKash.

Judge Khanwilkar, who took over for Pinaki Chandra Ghose in May 2022 after a two-year term, will be the second Lokpal in India.
◉ Currently serving as both the interim chair and a judge on Lokpal’s board is Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty, a former Jharkhand High Court chief justice.
