1. In New Delhi, BSES Yamuna Power Limited opened India’s first smart managed EV charging station.
- In New Delhi, BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL), a Reliance Infrastructure company, launched India’s first ‘Smart Managed EV (Electric Vehicle) Charging Station.’
- Nordic Innovation, a non-profit organisation sponsored by Nordic governments, is funding the project, which is being carried out by Fortum Charge & Drive.
2. Tamil Nadu has surpassed Karnataka as the state with the most installed renewable energy capacity.
- Tamil Nadu has surpassed Karnataka to take first place in India’s overall installed renewable energy capacity, according to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MoNRE).
- Tamil Nadu has strengthened its capacity in the solar and wind sectors in recent years to reclaim the lead over Karnataka.

- The BSA Amendment and Restatement Agreement was signed between the Bank of Japan, acting as agent for the Japanese Minister of Finance, and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

5. The New Development Bank will be the first multilateral organisation to establish a presence in Gift City.
- The New Development Bank (NDB) will open an office in Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City, making it the first multilateral organisation to do so.
- NDB has gotten approval for the project and plans to open an office at GIFT City in May 2022. The NDB has announced the appointment of a Director-General for the India Regional Office, who would be in charge of the origination and implementation of activities in India.
6. PC Financial Services, which operates the ‘Cashbean’ app, has had its CoR revoked by the RBI.
- Due to an upsurge in complaints about usurious rates of interest and unethical recovery techniques used by various digital lenders, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) revoked PC Financial Services Private Limited’s certificate of registration (CoR).
- The action was taken under the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, Section 45-IA (6) (iv). PC Financial Services Private Limited used to utilise an app named Cashbean to conduct its lending activities.
7. To offer health insurance, South Indian Bank formed a Bancassurance collaboration with Star Health and Allied Insurance.
- South Indian Bank (SIB) has signed a corporate agent agreement with Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited to supply innovative health insurance products to SIB’s 6.5 million clients dispersed throughout 923 locations across India.
- Through the SIB’s distribution channels, customers can take use of Star Health’s retail insurance and group affinity programmes.
8. FDI equity inflows fell 16 percent to $43.17 billion in April-December 2021, according to DPIIT data.
- According to data from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), India’s FDI equity inflows decreased by 16 percent to USD 43.17 billion from April to December 2021.
- Inflows were USD 51.47 billion over the same period the previous year. In the first nine months of this fiscal year, overall FDI inflows (reinvested earnings, stock inflows, and other capital) reached USD 60.34 billion, down from USD 67.5 billion the previous year.
