6. RBI expanded its list of unapproved forex trading platforms by 19 more.
◉ Nineteen further unlicensed forex trading sites have been added to the RBI’s “alert list” in a recent update.
◉ The list issued by RBI currently has 75 unapproved forex trading platforms after 19 additional businesses were added.
◉ The trading platforms on this alert list are prohibited by the Foreign Exchange Management Act of 1999 and the RBI’s 2018 guidelines for electronic trading platforms.
7. S&P reduced India’s fiscal year 2024 growth to 6.4%.
◉ The S&P increased its growth estimate for India’s fiscal year 2024 from 6% to 6.4% on November 27. However, the growth estimate for the fiscal year 2025 was downgraded by 0.5 percentage points to 6.4% by the American rating agency.
◉ They stated that they anticipate growth to decelerate in the second half of the fiscal year due to the effects of rate hikes, a larger base, and global growth.
