1. MoU between the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and RITES
◉ To speed up the management of solid waste and wasted water, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and RITES Limited inked an MoU.
◉ Under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technical Solid Waste Management (SWM) assistance was inked.
◉ For three years, the Technical Support Unit (TSU) of RITES will work with SBM-U.
◉ The engineering design of waste management facilities, such as Material Recovery Facilities and ◉ Legacy Waste, will be one of the areas of participation under SWM.
2. In Mauritius, Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

◉ India’s score in the 2023 World Press Freedom Index has dropped to 161 out of 180 nations, according to the most recent report from international media watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
◉ India’s rating has declined from the previous year for the second year in a row. India’s ranking on the press freedom index dropped to 150 last year from 142 in 2021.
◉ Pakistan, which is next to India, is ranked 150 this year, up from 157 last year, while Sri Lanka is ranked 135 this year, up from 146 in 2022, both of which had major improvements in the index.
4. Sberbank launches Al in Russia to take on ChatGPT
