1. In New Delhi, PM Modi launched “World Food India 2023.”
◉ The second iteration of the megaflood event “World Food India 2023” was opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
◉ Over one lakh members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) received Seed Capital Assistance from the Prime Minister on this occasion. With this support, SHGs will be able to enhance their manufacturing and packaging, as well as better realize their prices in the market.
◉ Food Street was also opened by the prime minister as part of World Food India 2023. Both local and royal culinary traditions will be showcased.

◉ Through “ENCORE,” which stands for Enabling Communications on Real-time Environment, the Election Commission of India has created proprietary software for comprehensive candidate and election management.
◉ Returning Officers may now process candidate nominations, affidavits, voter turnout, counting, results, and data management with ease thanks to this.
◉ The ENCORE counting application is a comprehensive tool used by returning officers to digitize ballots cast, tabulate data by round, and generate different statutory reports related to the counting process.
◉ Returning Officers can review the nominations that candidates submit online by using an additional program called the ENCORE Scrutiny program.

◉ The 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin would take place in New Delhi.

◉ The British Academy Book Prize for Global Cultural Understanding for 2023 will be awarded to author Nandini Das, who was born in India, for her book “Courting India: England, Mughal India, and the Origins of Empire.”
◉ The 49-year-old author, who teaches at the University of Oxford’s English faculty, has aimed to offer a fresh viewpoint on the beginnings of the empire by telling the tale of Sir Thomas Roe, the first English envoy to arrive in India in the early 17th century.
