1. PM Modi presides over the 42nd PRAGATI dialogue
◉ The 42nd edition of PRAGATI, the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, which includes the Centre and state governments, was presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ 12 important projects were reviewed during the meeting.
◉ The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was responsible for seven of the 12 projects, the Ministry of Railways for two, and the Ministries of Steel, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Road Transport and Highways for one each.
2. The Centre grants Rs 56,415 crore in capital investment authorization to 16 states.
◉ For 16 states in the current fiscal year 2023–2024, the Department of Expenditure under the Finance Ministry has accepted capital investment proposals totaling Rs 56,415 cr.
◉ Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Odisha, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal are among the 16 states for which the sum has been granted.
◉ The authorization was granted as part of the “Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023–24” program.
3. The Uttarakhand chief minister raises pension funds and honors “Loktantra Senani”
◉ Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister, paid tribute to the Uttarakhand residents who fought back against the Emergency in 1975.
◉ The CM declared that Loktantra Senani’s relatives would receive a pension fund and that his remuneration had been raised from Rs 16,000 to Rs 20,000.

5. Gujarat’s government and Micron Technology have signed an agreement for a semiconductor assembly and testing plant.
◉ In order to build a semiconductor assembly and testing facility at Sanand in the Ahmedabad district, the Gujarat government and American chipmaker Micron Technology have signed a memorandum of understanding.
◉ Bhupendra Patel, the governor of Gujarat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw, the union minister for electronics and information technology, were present when the MoU was signed.
◉ According to the plan, the US-based company would receive financial support from the central government equaling 50% of the project’s total cost, while the state governments will contribute 20% in the form of incentives.

◉ The $251 million Assam State Secondary Healthcare Initiative for Service Delivery ◉ Transformation (ASSIST) Project, which will benefit at least 1.8 million people directly, will increase access to high-quality secondary healthcare services in Assam.
◉ The project, according to the international financing organization, would improve the management and treatment of non-communicable diseases and increase access to comprehensive emergency obstetric and newborn care services.
◉ As part of the initiative, up to 10 lower-level institutions in crucial districts will be upgraded to district hospitals, and nurses’ and healthcare managers’ capacities will be strengthened to improve service delivery.

◉ China’s Xu Haoliang has been named the next Undersecretary-General and Associate Administrator of the UN Development Programme (UNDP), according to an announcement from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

◉ Since 2019, Xu has held the positions of UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the UNDP’s Bureau for Policy and Programme Support.

◉ At the age of 97, Goodenough became the oldest recipient of a Nobel Prize when he shared the 2019 chemistry prize for developing the lithium-ion battery with Stanley Whittingham of the United Kingdom and Akira Yoshino of Japan.
