1. First Tiger Reserve in Bundelkhand Receives Approval From UP Government
◉ The Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved the creation of the first tiger reserve in the Bundelkhand region on September 27th in an effort to advance tiger conservation in the state.
◉ Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, presided over a meeting when the cabinet gave its approval to notify Ranipur Tiger Reserve under the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.

2. Kazakhstan changes the name of its capital from Nur-Sultan to Astana.
◉ The latest move by Kazakhstan’s president to depart from the legacy of his predecessor was the signing of a bill restricting presidential terms and returning the capital to its former name.
◉ A day after parliament passed a bill limiting presidential terms to one seven-year term, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed it on September 24.
◉ The bill also restored Astana as the name of the capital. In honor of the departing president Nursultan Nazarbayev, the name was changed to Nur-Sultan in March 2019.
3. Global Innovation Index 2022: Switzerland takes the top spot, with India moving up to 40th
◉ India has moved up to position 40 in the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Global Innovation Index.
◉ 41 spots are moved up significantly in just 7 years. India moved up from 81st place in 2015 to 40th place on the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2022.
