1. Rajasthan inaugurates the highest Shiva statue in the world.
◉ The highest Shiva statue in the world, called “Vishwas Swarpoopam” (Statue of Belief), was unveiled in Rajasthan’s Rajsamand region.
◉ The 369-foot-tall statue constructed atop Ganesh Tekri in Nathdwara will require at least four hours to view.
◉ The statue, which took 10 years to complete and was built on a hill of 51 bighas, was created by Sant Kripa Sanatan.
◉ Its height was intended to be maintained at 251 feet as of the 2012 plan. But as the building continued, its height increased to 351 feet.
◉ During construction, about 3,000 tonnes of steel and iron, 2.5 lakh cubic tonnes of concrete, and sand were used. The statue is wind-resistant up to a speed of 250 kph.
2. Shibnote, J&K is where the Chenab White Water Rafting Festival begins.
◉ The district administration launched the Chenab White Water Rafting Festival as part of “Back to ◉ Village Phase-4″ to encourage adventure tourism throughout the year in the Doda area.
◉ At Shibnote, J&K, the festival was opened by Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan and SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom.
◉ Over a thousand people showed up for the event, and roughly 200 of them went on the rafting excursion and the ATB ride.

4. Government of Maharashtra to establish Cyber Intelligence Unit
◉ Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, has declared that the state will establish a special Cyber Intelligence Unit to combat financial and online crime.
◉ With the understanding that cybercrime may present a growing problem in the future, the Cyber Intelligence Unit will be established by employing cutting-edge technology.
◉ Due to the fact that it will bring together banks, financial institutions, social media companies, regulated institutions, cyber police, and experts, this single platform will guarantee a quick response to any cyber or financial crime.
5. Malabar is the first Indian jeweller to enter the CEPA and import gold into the UAE.
◉ Malabar Gold & Diamonds, a major retailer of jewellery in India, is the first jeweller to import 25 kg of gold as part of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and the UAE.
◉ According to the arrangement, the gold was imported through ICICI Bank with a 1% duty rebate.
On May 1, 2022, the CEPA between India and the UAE went into effect.

6. Xiaomi closes its Indian financial services operation
◉ Four years after its start, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi closed its financial services division in India.
◉ The National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) website no longer lists the company’s Mi Pay app among the approved third-party Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps, which allowed users to send and receive money.
◉ The Indian government has launched investigations into Xiaomi for allegedly evading tax authorities.
7. First ASEAN-India Start-up Festival launched in Indonesia in 2022
◉ To commemorate the 30th anniversary of ASEAN and India’s friendship, Indonesia has launched the first ASEAN-India Start-Up Festival.
