1. Naval Commanders’ Conference 2023’s second iteration kicks off in New Delhi
◉ The Naval Commanders’ Conference 2023’s second iteration got underway in New Delhi.
◉ The conference’s goal is to provide top government officials with a structured forum for dialogue between naval commanders with a focus on advancing various inter-ministerial initiatives designed to ensure a safe and secure maritime environment.
◉ The conference is the most important biannual gathering, allowing naval commanders to discuss and formulate policies.
2. ‘Gandhi Vatika’ and a statue of Mahatma Gandhi were unveiled by the president in New Delhi.
◉ At Gandhi Darshan, close to Rajghat in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated a 12-foot-tall statue of the nation’s founder Mahatma Gandhi as well as a “Gandhi Vatika.”

3. Launch of the Share. Market software for stock trading by PhonePe
◉ ‘Share(dot)Market’, a new mobile application from PhonePe’s subsidiary PhonePe Wealth Broking, was released to coincide with the company’s announcement that it was entering the stockbroking market.
◉ PhonePe claims that the Share(dot)Market app elevates cheap booking by offering market knowledge and a scalable technology platform called Wealth Baskets that is built on quantitative research.
◉ Retail investors will be able to purchase stocks, take part in intraday transactions, purchase curated Wealth Baskets, and participate in mutual funds using this platform, which will be made available as a mobile app and a separate website.
◉ Wealth Desk and OpenQ, two wealth technology platforms with a combined market value of $70 million, were acquired by PhonePe in 2022. The extension of PhonePe’s financial services beyond payments through this acquisition was a part of that process.
4. ‘A+’ rating for RBI Governor in Global Finance 2023 Central Banker Report
◉ Shaktikanta Das, governor of the Reserve Bank of India, has been named the world’s best central banker by the US-based Global Finance publication.
◉ In the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023, Das received an “A+” rating.
◉ Thomas J. Jordan, the governor of Switzerland, and Nguyen Thi Hong, the head of Vietnam’s central bank, are listed after Das.
◉ The first of the three governors of central banks to receive an A+ rating is Das.
◉ According to a statement by Global Finance magazine, grades are based on a scale from A to F for success in inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability, and interest rate management.

5. Rajesh Nambiar of Cognizant is appointed by Nasscom as Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India, The National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has named Rajesh Nambiar as its chair.
◉ Nambiar succeeds Anant Maheshwari, the former president of Microsoft India, in his new position from his previous one as vice chairman.
◉ Nambiar and President Debjani Ghosh will keep collaborating with the Nasscom Executive Council, business, and the government to boost India’s status as a global technology powerhouse while navigating the unstable macroeconomic situation.
6. Shri Vumlunmang Vualnam assumes the role of Secretary of MoCA Senior IAS official
◉ Vumlunmang Vualnam replaced Rajiv Bansal, who had been in the position since Rajiv Bansal had reached superannuation and retired.
◉ Vualnam is a member of the Manipur cadre and a 1992 graduate of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
◉ In the Union Government, he has held a number of significant roles, including Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Joint Secretary, Home Affairs, and Deputy Secretary, Finance and Company Affairs.
7. The election for president of Singapore was won by Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
