1. FM The 65th Foundation Day celebrations of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), which are taking place in New Delhi over two days, were opened by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

2. NDDB and Amul to Offer Technical Assistance to Improve Sri Lanka’s Milk Production
◉ According to the Sri Lankan President’s Office, India would give Sri Lanka technological assistance to improve its dairy industry and milk output in an effort to lessen the cash-strapped nation’s reliance on imported milk products.
◉ Officials from the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets milk under the Amul brand, and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) have started action to give the technical assistance required for the production of milk in Sri Lanka.
◉ Plans to undertake short- and medium-term plans to double local milk production and long-term programs to make Sri Lanka milk self-sufficient were considered, according to the statement.

3. SBI surpasses Rs 5 trillion in advances on personal loans
◉ In a statement, SBI stated that its personal banking advances, excluding high-value house loans, had reached the milestone of 5 lakh crore. According to an official statement, the largest lender in the nation took a year to book the most recent $1 lakh crore in advances, compared to more than 15 months and more than 30 months for the prior $1 lakh crore.
◉ Dinesh Kumar Khara emphasized that the 5 lakh crore does not include housing loans, where the bank has the market’s top spot. According to the statement, personal loans, pension loans, auto loans, student loans, gold loans, and other personal loan products make up the majority of personal banking advances.

◉ Dominique Lapierre, the author of Freedom at Midnight, passed away at the age of 91. He was born in Chatelaillon on July 30, 1931.
◉ Together with American author Larry Collins, Lapierre produced six best-selling books that have sold over 50 million copies. In 2008, the author received the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor.
