1. Hyderabad has opened India’s first gold cash machine.
◉ The first real-time gold ATM in the world and in India has been opened in Begumpet, Hyderabad.
With technological assistance from Hyderabad-based startup company M/s OpenCube Technologies Pvt Ltd, Goldsikka Pvt Ltd introduced its first gold ATM.
◉ Each ATM has the ability to store up to 5 kg of gold, which is equivalent to about Rs. 2–3 crores. From 0.5 grammes to 100 grammes of coins can be obtained from the ATM.
◉ There are 8 choices: 0.5 grammes, 1 gramme, 2 gramme, 5 gramme, 10 gramme, 20 gramme, 50 gramme, and 100 gramme.
◉ Instead of travelling here, people can come here and obtain the coins directly.
2. Germany and India reached an agreement on migration and mobility.
◉ A comprehensive collaboration on migration and mobility has been struck by German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
◉ The agreement, which intends to make it easier for researchers, professionals, and students to go back and forth, is also expected to alleviate the problems associated with illegal immigration.
◉ Additionally, the relationship between migration and mobility ensures that Indian students can now obtain joint degrees and dual degrees.
3. India produced 75.87 million tonnes of coal in November, an increase of 11.66%.
◉ In November 2022 compared to November 2021, India’s total coal production increased by 66 per cent to 75.87 Million Tonnes (MT) from 67.94 MT.
◉ Coal India Ltd. (CIL) recorded a growth of 12.82 per cent in November 2022, while Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and other captive mines recorded growths of 7.84 per cent and 6.87 per cent, respectively.
◉ Out of the top 37 coal mines, 24 mines produced more than 100% of their output, and five mines produced between 80% and 100% of their total capacity.
4. Inaugurating the National Conference on Soil Health Union was Narendra Singh Tomar The Conference on Soil Health Management for Sustainable Farming has been officially opened by Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar.
◉ More than 22 crore Soil Health Cards have been handed to farmers all throughout the nation in two phases.
◉ There are currently 499 permanent soil testing laboratories and 2395 village-level laboratories operating throughout the nation.
5. India’s first Dark Night Sky Reserve will soon be in Ladakh.
◉ The first Dark Night Sky Reserve in India will be established in Ladakh near Hanley village in the Changthang region.
◉ A total of roughly 18 places throughout Hanley will have large telescopes set up for stargazing.
◉ The second-highest optical telescope in the world, built-in 2001 by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, is located in Hanley at a height of 4,500 metres.
6. Inaugurating a symposium on women’s leadership was Jitendra Singh
◉ A symposium on “Women Leading Change in Health and Science in India” has been launched in New Delhi by Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh.
◉ It is put on by Women Lift Health in cooperation with the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).

7. RBI raised the repo rate by 35 basis points to 6.25%.
◉ The policy repo rate has been increased by 35 basis points (bps) to 6.25 per cent with immediate effect by the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary policy committee (MPC).
◉ The central bank has increased rates for five straight months. The rate at which the RBI loans money to all commercial banks is known as the repo rate.
◉ When buyers are confident in their ability to make a home purchase decision, the ongoing rate hikes may cause short-term turbulence in the overall housing demand, which could raise the cost of the purchase for all buyers.
◉ The RBI has reduced India’s projected GDP growth for the current fiscal year to 6.8% from 7%.
8. The World Bank updated its prediction for India’s GDP growth to 6.9% for FY23.
◉ The World Bank has increased its estimate of India’s GDP growth for 2022–2023 from 6.5 per cent to 6.9 per cent.
◉ The World Bank decreased its earlier prediction of 7.5 per cent GDP growth for India to 6.5 per cent in October. Now, it has increased the forecast for 2022–2023 to 6.9 per cent (April 2022 -March 2023).
◉ However, it showed that the government would achieve its 6.4 per cent GDP fiscal deficit target for 2022–2023
