4. Forbes has listed Nirmala Sitharaman and three other Indian women among the “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women” of 2023.
◉ Four Indians are among the 100 named in Forbes’ annual list of “The World’s Most Powerful Women of 2023”: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chairperson of HCL Corporation Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of Steel Authority of India Soma Mondal, and Executive Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.

6. For Rs 230 crore, SBI would purchase a 20% share in SBI Pension Funds.
◉ The State Bank of India (SBI) has received final approval from the Executive Committee of the Central Board (ECCB) to purchase a 20 percent stake in SBIPFPL (SBI Pension Funds Private Ltd) that was previously held by SBICAPS (SBI Capital Markets Ltd).
◉ According to SBI’s regulatory filing, the transaction would be finalized by December 15, 2023, for a cash consideration of ₹229.52 crore.
◉ SBI’s wholly-owned subsidiary is called SBICAPS.
◉ Following the transaction, SBI will own an 80% share in SBIPFPL, with SBI Funds Management Ltd. holding the remaining 20%. The latter is a partnership between Amundi (36.73 percent) and SBI (62.53 percent).

8. Rajiv Anand has been appointed Chairman of Max Life Insurance.
◉ Rajiv Anand has taken over as Chairman of Max Financial Services’ main subsidiary, Max Life Insurance.
◉ This comes after Analjit Singh resigned as chairman and member of the Max Life Insurance board of directors.
◉ Before this promotion, Axis Bank Ltd. recommended Anand, a non-executive director of Max Life, to be Chairman of Max Life Insurance.
