1. In Madhya Pradesh, the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention was held.

7. RBI plans to issue two 8,000 crore rupee tranches of green bonds.
◉ On January 25 and February 9, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will issue two tranches of Sovereign Green Bonds, each worth Rs 8,000 crore.
◉ The funds raised will be used for government initiatives that lower the economy’s carbon footprint.
◉ At each auction, the RBI will sell two bonds with maturities of five and ten years, respectively, for Rs 4,000 crore. Uniform Price Auctions will be used to issue sovereign green bonds.
8. According to an NSO estimate, India’s GDP will expand by 7.0 percent in FY23.
◉ The first advance projections released in January 2023 by the National Statistical Office (NSO) predict that India’s economy would expand by 7.0% in the fiscal year 2023.

◉ The figures for the first half of FY23 (April to September), which was announced on November 30, showed that the economy expanded by 9.7%.
