1. The ‘CM Learn and Earn’ programme is introduced in Madhya Pradesh.
◉ The Learn and Earn programme has been introduced by the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh to teach young people employable skills.
◉ The plan has designated 703 occupational areas for training. Under the programme, training would be provided to at least 100,000 youth.
◉ The fact that the youngsters would receive an allowance of Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 in addition to gaining skills is the most significant feature of this learn-and-earn programme.
2. Haryana started a programme to increase rubbish collection awareness.
◉ To increase public awareness about door-to-door rubbish collection and segregation, Haryana has started a unique campaign.
◉ It is a component of the state government’s ongoing efforts to make every community a “Clean City-Safe City.”
◉ The government will implement practical steps for city beautification, such as fixing roads, parks, and parking lots.
3. UP government introduces the Nand Baba Milk Mission programme
◉ The Nand Baba Milk Mission programme was started by the Uttar Pradesh government at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
◉ Through dairy cooperative groups, this programme gives milk farmers the opportunity to sell their products in villages for a fair price.
In order to facilitate the selling of milk in the actual producer communities, it is planned to establish a dairy farmer producer organisation (Dairy FPO).

4. The UN Security Council has elected five new non-permanent members.
◉ Slovenia, Algeria, Guyana, the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone, and Sierra Leone were chosen as UN Security Council non-permanent members for a two-year tenure.
◉ The newly elected members will begin their new roles on January 1, 2024, and fulfil them through December 31, 2025.
◉ By a vote of 153 to 38, Slovenia overcame Belarus; Algeria, Guyana, Sierra Leone, and the Republic of Korea were elected without opposition.
◉ When the current members’ two-year terms expire on December 31, 2023, Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, and the United Arab Emirates will be replaced by these new members.
5. First autonomous flying taxi is tested in Israel.
◉ Israel has started testing autonomous drones that could eventually be used for public transit.
Israel’s National Drone Initiative uses drones to reduce traffic congestion.
◉ Israel is relying on electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) planes that are autonomous to cope with its escalating traffic issues.
◉ In conjunction with air traffic control technologies, the aircraft being tested presently will be able to avoid gridlock and reduce congestion by removing automobiles and trucks from the roadways.

6. Launch of the Millennium Credit Card by HDFC Bank
◉ A new credit card from HDFC Bank called Millennium offers cashback.
◉ The contactless technology on the card enables users to “tap and pay” at POS terminals.
◉ On Amazon, Flipkart, and other e-commerce sites, the HDFC Millennia Credit Card provides cashback and reward points. The card also provides smart EMI, free lounge access, and 1% cash back on offline purchases, among other benefits.

7. Wipro and Microsoft launched an innovation initiative for the financial services sector.
◉ For the debut of the Wipro Industry Innovation Experience for Financial Services, Microsoft and Wipro Limited worked together.

9. IFS officer Jagdish S. Bakan has been named the recipient of the esteemed UNESCO Michel Batisse Award 2023 for his work managing biosphere reserves.
◉ The Gulf of Mannar Biosphere Reserve’s director is an Indian Forest Service officer from the 2017 class.
◉ The USD 12,000 prize is granted in Dr Michel Batisse’s honour for exceptional accomplishment in managing biosphere reserves in accordance with Seville Strategy principles.
◉ On June 14, 2023, he will receive the honour from UNESCO in Paris.

10. Germany and Mazagon Dock agree to jointly develop diesel submarines
◉ ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), a German shipbuilder, and Mazagon Dock (MDL), India’s largest warship yard, have inked a contract to work together on the construction of six cutting-edge submarines for the Indian Navy.
◉ Air-independent propulsion (AIP), a novel technology, will be used to power these submarines. They will be constructed as part of Project 75-I, a Rs 45,000 crore development.
◉ The so-called “strategic partner” concept of equipment purchase is being used to pursue Project 75-I.
