1. Targeting major markets, FSSAI initiates a comprehensive awareness and sensitization program.
◉ Targeting the main markets in New Delhi, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has started a comprehensive awareness and sensitization campaign.
◉ The awareness campaign will pay special attention to identifying and removing pollutants and pesticide residue in food products.
◉ The program educated the owners of food businesses on issues such as the value of organic farming, the need to analyze raw materials, the dangers of pesticide residues, artificial ripening, and the use of banned chemicals for wax coating.
2. A deal is signed by Air India and BIAL to establish Bengaluru airport as a hub.
◉ To transform Bengaluru airport into an aviation hub, Air India and Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) have inked an agreement that includes building a specific domestic lounge, increasing international services, and setting up an MRO facility.
◉ Over the next five years, Air India, BIAL, and the other Tata Group airlines, Vistara and AIX, will work together to improve international connectivity, operational effectiveness, and the traveler experience.
3. Cochin Shipyard and the US negotiate a repair agreement
◉ The United States Navy and the government-owned Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) have inked a Master Shipyard Repair Agreement (MSRA).
◉ This will make it easier for US Navy ships under the Military Sealift Command to be repaired at the Cochin Shipyard.
◉ CSL (Cochin Shipyard) has been approved to engage in the Master Shipyard Repair Agreement (MSRA) following a thorough assessment procedure and capacity review conducted by the Military Sealift Command of the US Navy.

4. Rs 110 crore is invested in Biodeal Pharmaceuticals by Piramal Alternatives.
◉ The Piramal Group’s investment division, Piramal Alternatives, has disclosed a Rs 110 crore investment in Biodeal Pharmaceuticals.
◉ The money will go toward modernizing technology, expanding capabilities, and constructing a facility specifically for the production of nutraceuticals.
◉ Biodeal is a manufacturing and contract development company.
5. Union Bank obtains 4200 cr from DIFC to finance the expansion of its international operations
◉ To finance the expansion of its abroad operations, the state-owned Union Bank of India has raised $500 million (about Rs 4,200 crore) from international markets.
◉ The Union Bank of India said in a regulatory filing that the fund was arranged by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai Branch.
◉ A $500 million syndicated term loan ($400 million plus $100 million for Green Shoe) would be drawn down over two years, with terms of three and five years each.
