1. Agartala, Tripura hosted the inaugural Divya Kala Mela 2024.
◉ The sixth to the eleventh of February 2024 will see the Divya Kala Mela held in Children’s Park in Agartala.
◉ Divya Kala Mela is a recurring event that is organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) {DEPWD}, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, through National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation.
◉ The Minister of Power, Shri Ratan Lal Nath, gave the Divya Kala Mela its inaugural speech.
2. By 2025, Microsoft plans to teach generative AI capabilities to more than 2 million individuals in India.
◉ Microsoft has unveiled a bold plan to provide 2 million Indians with artificial intelligence skills by 2025.
◉ The initiative, known as ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA, is to expedite India’s AI revolution and equip its labor force for occupations of the future.

3. Qatar, Turkey, and India were designated as Honorary Guests at the Dubai World Governments Summit in 2024
◉ slated to take place in Dubai from February 12–14, 2024, the World Governments Summit has named India, Turkey, and Qatar as its honored guests.
◉ More than 25 heads of state and government from around the globe will be attending the summit, which has as its theme “Shaping Future Governments.”
◉ President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani will lead the delegations from Turkey, India, and Qatar, respectively.

4. LIC introduces “Index Plus,” a new plan. Regulation
◉ The unit-linked, regular premium individual life insurance plan “Index Plus” has been introduced by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.
◉ Throughout the policy’s term, the plan provides savings in addition to life insurance coverage.
◉ Following the five-year lock-in period, there is a possibility to remove some or all of the units, subject to certain restrictions.
◉ The normal premium policy featuring monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual savings options is called the LIC Index Plus Plan. If the age is 51 or above, the insurance coverage will be seven times only; if the age is under 51, it will be seven times and ten times.
5. With the issuance of its first sustainable finance bond, HDFC Bank raises $300 million.
◉ With the sale of its first-ever sustainable finance bond, HDFC Bank has raised $300 million. The fundraising is a portion of the $750 million in total that will be raised via Regulation S Bonds.
◉ With a 95 basis point spread over the US Treasury, the lender raised $300 million over three years, and with a 108 basis point spread over the US Treasury, it raised an additional $450 million over five years.
◉ For a three-year sustainable bond and a five-year senior unsecured bond with an equivalent size of USD Reg S issuance, these are the tightest credit spreads that an Indian issuer has ever achieved.
◉ The money raised from the sale of the sustainable finance bond will be used to support ordinary banking operations as well as green and social loans.
6. RBI repo rate remains the same at 6.5%.
◉ The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has maintained the 6.5 percent repo rate level.
◉ Additionally, it has chosen to keep its attention on the removal of the accommodating posture.
◉ This decision remains unchanged for the sixth time in a row.
◉ Five of the six members of the RBI voted in favor of maintaining the current repo rate at 6.5%. Additionally, many anticipated that the repo rate would stay at 6.5 percent.

◉ The current employee, Naveen Tahilyani, has been promoted to the position of Non-Executive Director of Tata AIA Life Insurance Company and will be replaced by Venkatachalam.
◉ Since 2020, Naveen Tahilyani has held the positions of MD and CEO at the life insurance company.
8. Ajay Kumar Choudhary is named non-executive chairman of the board by NPCI.
◉ Ajay Kumar Choudhary has been named by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) as the non-executive chairman of the Board and an independent director. His appointment will take effect on February 8, 2024, and will last for three years.
◉ Biswamohan Mahapatra, who was named non-executive chairman in 2018, was succeeded by Choudhary.

◉ A new name for the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium in Rajkot is Niranjan Shah Stadium.
