1. Central Tribal University would be established in Telangana, according to PM Modi.
◉ To construct a Central Tribal University in Telangana, an amendment to the Central Universities Act, 2009, has been accepted by the Union cabinet, which is chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2023, which alters the Central Universities Act, 2009, was approved by the government.
◉ This was done in order to fulfill the requirements of the Thirteenth Schedule to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014, which calls for the creation of the Sammakka Sarakka Central Tribal University in the Telangana district of Mulugu.
◉ After the tribal gods of Telangana, Sammakka, and Sarakka, the new tribal university will have their names. The establishment of this institution would be funded with a budget of Rs. 889.07 crore.
2. Swavalamban 2.0, an upgraded indigenous Navy program, was introduced by Rajnath Singh.
◉ In New Delhi, Rajnath Singh, the minister of defense, unveiled the updated indigenous program Swavalamban 2.0 for the Navy.
◉ Additionally, 98 items from the fifth Positive Indigenisation list were released at the event. It demonstrates the key development in the military’s process of becoming more indigenous.

3. The Bihar government has announced a 10% EWS reservation in the judicial services.
◉ The government of Bihar has established a 10% reservation for members of the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the judicial system and state-run law schools.
◉ The announcement was made just one day after the state’s caste survey’s initial set of data was made public by the government.
◉ The State Judicial Services, 1951, criteria were amended by the cabinet to permit a 10% reservation for members of the EWS category in both the judicial system and state-run law schools and universities.
4. Madhya Pradesh announces that 35% of government employment will be reserved for women.
◉ With the exception of the forest department, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced that women will have a 35 percent hiring preference.
◉ In order to give women in the state a 35 percent reservation, the government has amended the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Special Provision for Appointment of Women) Rules, 1997.
◉ Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister, has declared that women would fill 35% of the open positions in the police and other government agencies.

5. The fourth bimonthly Monetary Policy statement from RBI
◉ The fourth bi-monthly monetary policy from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been made public. the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), headed by Shaktikanta Das, governor of the RBI.
◉ The key policy repo rate has remained at 6.5% by the RBI Monetary Policy Committee. The MPC has now opted to keep the repo rate unchanged for a fourth consecutive meeting.
◉ Repo rates are currently 6.5%, Reverse Repo rates are 3.35 percent, and Bank rates are 6.75 percent.

6. Anirban Mukherjee has been hired as PayU’s global CEO
◉ Anirban Mukherjee, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PayU India, a significant fintech company owned by Prosus, has been elevated to the position of PayU’s global CEO.
◉ Laurent Le Moal, who will no longer oversee the day-to-day operations but continue to work with Prosus and PayU in an advisory capacity, is being replaced by him.
◉ Anirban will now be a member of the Prosus executive team and will answer directly to interim Prosus and Naspers CEO Ervin Tu in his new position. He will be in charge of PayU’s general business activities.
◉ It was only two months ago that the fintech division of PayU announced it was selling a portion of its business to an investment group based in the Netherlands called Prosus.

7. Joyeeta Gupta was awarded the Spinoza Prize for Climate Change.
◉ Dr. Joyeeta Gupta, a professor of Indian descent, was awarded the Spinoza Prize, the highest honor in Dutch science, for her contributions to the study of climate change at a ceremony held in the Netherlands.
◉ Robert Dijkgraaf, the Dutch minister of education, science, and culture, gave her the award in The Hague.
◉ Gupta plans to use the 1.5 million euro prize from the Dutch Research Council (NWO) for scholarly investigation and activities involving the use of knowledge.
◉ Professor of Environment and Development in the Global South at the University of Amsterdam, Joyeeta Gupta is a Dutch environmental scientist.

8. Aditi Swami wins bronze in the women’s individual compound archery competition.
◉ In the women’s individual compound archery competition at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Aditi Swami of India took home the bronze medal.

◉ In an all-Indian semifinal, the 17-year-old from Maharashtra fell to 10-year-old Jyothi Surekha Vennam 146-149.

9. Men’s singles badminton bronze medalist Prannoy
◉ After losing to Li Shifeng of China in the badminton men’s singles semifinal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, India’s H.S. Prannoy earned bronze.
◉ The World No. 1 Shifeng cruised to a 21-16, 21-9 victory in just over 45 minutes after trailing 10-11 at the first game break.
